PICTURES FROM AUSTRALIA
Return to The Holloman Home Page(TM)
In April 2004, I visited Sydney, Australia for a week and a half. I had a team of 4 internal auditors down under performing some audit work. Although I saw a pretty good bit of Sydney, I didn't take many pictures. The ones below are the highlights from the ones I took. The first one is the Sydney Opera House. You have to see that while you're there. This picture is from a ferry that I took to the zoo.
Here's a picture from the other side.
Here's a view of Sydney from the 'needle'.
And a different view from the needle.
If you look on top of the bridge, to the right of the flags, you will see tiny bumps. These are people. For several hundred dollars, you could walk up one side of the bridge to the flags, and then back down the other side to where you started. Definitely a strange tourist attraction. I probably would have done it if it wasn't so expensive.
Aside from the giraffe, this is also a view of the Sydney skyline from the zoo. Just to the left of the tree, you can see the 'needle' from which I took the pictures noted above.
Here's a koala trying to hide behind a tree.
The kangaroo exhibit was interesting. Although they couldn't escape the exhibit unless you let them out the door, there were no bars or cages inside the exhibit. This guy was just lounging around. I could have walked up and touched him, but he probably would have boxed my ears.
I don't remember what this neat little guy was, but he
looks like a cross between a raccoon and a bear.
I call this picture "Monkeybutt" for obvious reasons.
