From a glass slide, this half sheet has to be one of the all-time best pieces of film artwork ever! Visually stunning with an acute use of color and arrested movement, this half sheet is a rare find. Surprisingly, very few posters and lobby cards survive from this film. Perhaps because of a limited production budget, very little accompanying artwork was produced and/or it was of poor quality. What a tragedy! With dramatic set designs by William Cameron Menzies, gowns by Adrian, and the seductive faces of Valentino and Naldi, all the raw material was present to inspire magnificent artwork.
Set in the 1920's, Valentino appears in his own exclusively-tailored Bond Street suits, shoes and hats. Nita is at the epitome of her beauty, her trim weight accentuated with glorious Adrian gowns in a hairstyle which perfectly suits her arresting face.
Enjoy this film in sparkling DVD and watch Nita, the Cobra-Woman, strike!
