Hello everybody, I'm Michael Cole along with Kevin Kelly; we are backstage at Madison Square Garden. The Royal Rumble has been sold out for a good month and a half, here at the Gardens."
-- Michael Cole, kicking us off.
"Michael, there is such atmosphere here tonight in Madison Square Garden, but there's also a burgeoning story developing backstage. It has to do with the stellar field that was already announced earlier this week for the 30-man over-the-top-rope Royal Rumble match. The names were released on WWF.com, but we understand that there's been some changes. There's been some lobbying by superstars that are already competing here tonight in the Royal Rumble match. So some names are out, some names are in. What are we talking about? Well, how about the three participants in the Intercontinental championship triple threat match? You'll see Chyna, Chris Jericho, and Hardcore Holly as a part of the field. We understand that the New Age Outlaws and the Acolytes also want to be part of the Royal Rumble. We also understand that there's some superstars on the outside looking in that are none-too-pleased about it."
-- Kevin Kelly
"Members of the media from around the world have gathered here on Times Square to check out the opening of WWF New York, and as the saying goes, "There goes the neighborhood!"
-- Jonathan Coachman, covering the opening of WWFNY
"I like this about New York-- New Yorkers know how to throw a party!"
-- Bradshaw at the opening of WWFNY
"You see all those people out there? They're here for one thing, and that's to see the two of us."
-- Triple H at the opening of WWFNY, referring to himself and Stephanie
"I would describe it as a Jerichoholics euphoria and ambrosia."
-- Chris Jericho at the opening of WWFNY, describing the place
"WWF New York is the absolute best place in New York City. I've been to Times Square a thousand times over, and over, and over again-- I come to this place, I see the dance floor, I hear the music, taste the food-- WWF New York is the place to be. When you come to New York City, this is the absolute PLACE you need to come to!"
-- D'Lo Brown at the opening of WWFNY
"Y'know, I came here tonight to do a rock 'n' roll show, and I got rock 'n' rolled all over!"
-- Mark McGrath, leader singer of Sugar Ray, on his WWFNY experience
"Put your arms around me baby, put your arms around me baby..."
-- Mark McGrath, attempting to sing as the audience helps Terri on stage and lets her snag hold of him
"I believe in passion, and I felt passion welling up from the bottom of my toes to the top of my head, and I said, "I need to be there!" And then I motioned for my boys, and they came up, and, y'know, the rest of the WWF came up, and I think we all had a good time!"
-- Terri explaining how most of the WWF roster came to be on stage; in the footage of the WWF stage takeover, you can see Big Boss Man give Tori a very cute kiss

"THANK you very much..."
-- Pete Gas trying to steal Kane's number in the Royal Rumble (not a wise move)
"I'd just like to say, my chances are excellent of winning the Royal Rumble!"
"What do you think you're doing?"
"Cousin, I'm gonna win the Royal Rumble!"
"This interview's about me, not you! This is about my Intercontinental title shot; you get the hell out of here!"
"But cousin, I'm gonna win that Roy--"
"You better get outta here!"
"But cousin, c'mon, now..."
"Get your ass outta here right now!"
-- Crash and Hardcore Holly bickering backstage
"Yes! Look!"
-- Al Snow drawing his Rumble number, and making a point to show it to Head first
"Hey, hold on a second! Hold on! This is discrimination! These guys are Chinese, we're rich--"

"Physicality is a universal language! Everybody understands that!" (Rikishi makes a fake lunge at the MSP and Kaientai; they all leap back reflexively) "That's what I thought."
-- Rikishi backstage at the Rumble drawing
"How about these superstars who are no longer in the Rumble when they believed that they were?"
"They're on the outside looking in, and then again, Michael, so is Stone Cold Steve Austin. A winner two of the last three years, and I know that everybody here tonight, all the fans tuning in on pay-per-view are thinking about the Texas rattlesnake."
-- Kevin Kelly
"I've got this damn collar on my neck... y'know, the collar don't bother me so much, only when I go to sleep and when I try to drink a damn beer, 'cause I can't tilt my head back right, so I've got to drink all my beer through a straw right now, but other than that I feel pretty damn good... Right now, I've got a few months waiting period while that bone fuses together and it heals up solid, and then I think, then, I'll really weigh out my future... There's nothing like being in front of twenty thousand people or more in an arena with a Triple H or a Rock or an Undertaker, and being a main event and fighting for that belt. I mean, to me, that's what the business is all about... Believe me, you ain't seen the last of Stone Cold Steve Austin yet... I will be one hundred percent and kicking ass, because that's the only way I know how to be in that ring, so I can't be toned down. If I can't go all-out, then I can't do it at all."
-- Steve Austin on his condition
"...oh my God. Oh my God... hi, Miss Kitty! Kat!"
-- Lawler; he drops his microphone while preparing to knock on the door of the women's dressing room, then looks up to find the door open and Miss Kitty Kat, clad only in a towel, smiling down at him
"Excuse me, I'm up here."
-- Miss Kitty, directing Lawler's attention from her body to her face
"Bradshaw and Road Dogg are going at it in the studio!"
"Roadie, look out!"
-- Michael Cole and Stephanie McMahon as Bradshaw clunks Road Dogg over the head with a trash can during the WWF radio broadcast
"Brother, I can't wait until you come back and we can light the world up."
"Believe me, I'd like to punch you in your damn mouth so hard..."
-- Triple H (out of character) and Steve Austin (in character) during the WWF radio broadcast
"Everybody looks up to the Big Show... and that's usually because he's just knocked them down."
-- Jerry "the King" Lawler as the Big Show comes to the ring
"I will snap their necks like a twig, grab them by the tights, and THROW them over the top of the ring!"
-- Big Show, describing his planned antics in the Rumble
"I hope you understand, and I hope the fans out there can forgive me, because Mick Foley is about to go to a very dark place in his mind... a place where compassion does not exist! A place that is evil, and a place that is wicked, and I would be less than truthful if I said that I didn't love it just a little bit!"
-- Cactus Jack (listen to the crowd popping in the background)
"There's a side to me that is very generous; a side that is almost gentle; a side that is very compassionate; but that side will not be in existence tonight! Maybe one day I'll put on a sock and we'll all have a good laugh together, but that night is NOT tonight! Because I will get uglier, I will get meaner, if you want to use the word hardcore, I will be more hardcore than anybody has ever seen inside the ring at Madison Square Garden!"
-- Cactus Jack
