Timeline: January 2000
01-02-00 (Sunday Night HeAT: Richmond, VA)
Taped December 28. The Road Dogg and Badd Ass come out about halfway through and deliver their spiel from the stage. They mention the Acolytes and discuss their upcoming match for the Royal Rumble. Road Dogg confesses that he's afraid of the Acolytes, but he claims there's a good chance the Acolytes may not even make it to the Rumble.
01-03-00 (RAW is WAR: Miami, FL)
The New Age Outlaws and X-Pac fight the Rock in a handicap match, with the hopes that they will win the three-on-one affair and the Rock will be fired as a result. Unfortunately for them, Mick Foley runs in and attacks, allowing the Rock to get the pinfall.
01-06-00 (SmackDown!: Orlando, FL)
Taped 1/4/00. At the show's opening, Stephanie and Triple H announce that the rest of D-X will be put in difficult matches as a result of their failure to beat the Rock Monday. Later, Road Dogg approaches her alone to discover who his opponent will be. Instead of telling him, Steph tricks Road Dogg into walking into Tori in the bathroom, and soon after an enraged Kane demands a match with him. Road Dogg interferes to help Billy Gunn in his handicap match against the Acolytes, and is furious when Stephanie tells him minutes later that he'll be facing Kane. Although X-Pac tries to help, Road Dogg is absolutely destroyed in his matchup. At the end of the evening, Triple H faces Rikishi for the title and is soundly beaten himself. The rest of D-X is shown watching backstage, and they clearly have no intentions on helping their leader.
01-09-00 (Sunday Night HeAT: Orlando, FL)
Taped 1/4/00. Road Dogg is not on, but as a result of the promo he and Badd Ass cut last week, the Acolytes come out and talk about how they plan to kick some New Age Outlaw ass at the Royal Rumble.
01-10-00 (RAW is WAR)
01-13-00 (SmackDown!: Chicago, IL)
Wanting to mend broken ties, Triple H scheduled the New Age Outlaws for two matches-- both no-disqualification handicap affairs. The first was against Bradshaw with the second against Faarooq, and if either Acolyte tried to run in on the other's match, the Acolytes would be forced to forfeit their title match against the NAO at January 23's Royal Rumble. Bradshaw puts up a nice fight, throwing powder in Road Dogg's eyes and putting him over the announce table. The Outlaws come back to get a victory, however. They also score a pin on Faarooq later in the night, although immediately after the bell Bradshaw runs out with a pipe to clear them from the ring.
01-16-00 (Sunday Night HeAT!: Chicago, IL)
Taped 1-11-00. Road Dogg isn't on.
01-17-00 (RAW is WAR: New Haven, CT)
Live. Triple H enlists the help of X-Pac and the New Age Outlaws early to go after Mick Foley. This causes the Acolytes to run out after the Outlaws and also attracts Big Show to the ring, resulting in a big clusterfrick. We briefly visit the happy D-X family backstage a bit later on. At the top of the hour, Triple H and X-Pac take on the Acolytes in tag team competition, and the Outlaws end up interfering. Some backstage footage of a celebrating D-X. The main event features the New Age Outlaws taking on the Rock and the Big Show. Rock and Big Show begin attacking each other immediately, and once some semblance of a match begins, the Big Show refuses to let the Rock tag out of competition. Eventually the Big Show does get into the ring, but this match is a fairly easy win for the Outlaws due to the problems of their opponents. X-Pac, Stephanie, and Triple H watch approvingly from the stage.
01-20-00 (SmackDown!: Providence, RI)
Taped 1-18-00. Triple H informs the Outlaws that they have the night off. Mr. Ass and Road Dogg end up going bar-hopping and wind up at the Friendly Tap, the same bar the Acolytes trashed the last time the WWF went through Providence. The Outlaws receive a fairly warm welcome from the locals. At the arena, the Acolytes realize where the Outlaws are and pay them a visit. After feigning excitement at running into the tag team champs at the bar, the Acolytes cause another brawl.
01-23-00 (Sunday Night HeAT: New York, NY)
Live. Road Dogg isn't on.
01-23-00 (PPV: Royal Rumble, New York, NY)
Live. The New Age Outlaws defend their tag team championship against the Acolytes. The Acolytes are dominant in this match, and while the bout is fast-paced, it is entirely too quick. Ends with a fame-ass-er and a quick pin after interference from X-Pac; cheap ending. Later, Road Dogg is involved in the Royal Rumble. He comes out about nineteenth and is responsible for eliminating the Bulldog, but that's about all the offense he does. Road Dogg spends most of the Royal Rumble curled up underneath the turnbuckles, using both arms and legs to cling to the bottom rope for dear life. Every few moments one of his opponents will happen by and beat him up, but whenever they are distracted or attacked themselves, Road Dogg heads back to the nearest corner. Yes, it was pathetic, but it was also one of the funniest damn things I have EVER seen in the Rumble. Road Dogg is one of about six or seven wrestlers ultimately left in the ring. He is eliminated by Mr. Ass, who is then himself quickly thrown out.
01-24-00 (RAW is WAR: Philadelphia, PA)
Live. The New Age Outlaws defend their tag team championship against the Hardy Boyz, who are still largely torn up from their incredible table match with the Dudleys the night before. Early in the match, the Dudley Boyz come out, presumably to cheer on the Hardys. They drag a table out from underneath the ring and sit on it to watch the bout. The Outlaws isolate Matt Hardy. Road Dogg attempts a cross body using Mr. Ass as a launching pad, but is met with a dropkick to the chest from Matt. Jeff Hardy eventually gets in to relieve his brother and finishes off the Road Dogg with a senton bomb. The Hardys have the match won when the Dudleys interfere and a DQ is declared. The Dudleys end up powerbombing Terri through a table, cementing their spot as the #1 heel tag team in the WWF. The Outlaws make a quick getaway.
01-27-00 (SmackDown!: Baltimore, MD)
Taped 1-26-00 (delayed due to snow). Road Dogg isn't on. Mr. Ass fights in the first match and it is announced at that point that Road Dogg has the flu and is not at the arena.
