9-23-99 (SmackDown!)
ABOUT DAMN TIME!! The Road Dogg enters unexpectedly while tag team champs the Rock and Mankind are in the ring. RD makes no mention of Jericho, or the beating his best friend X-Pac took earlier in the evening. Instead, he challenges the champs and introduces his parter... Badd Ass Billy Gunn! The New Age Outlaws have reformed! Road Dogg is in for most of the match, getting his ass kicked. Both he and the announcers are selling the back injury still, so it looks like the back will become to the Road Dogg what X-Pac's neck is to him. A good match; BABG gets in and is fighting people left, right, and sideways. He eventually gets the pin on Mankind and celebrates in-ring with Road Dogg. They do the "Ladies and gentlemen" line, capped off with Road Dogg's "Tag team champions of the wooooorld" and Badd Ass's "Suck it!" Welcome back, Road Dogg and NAO!

HeAT (9-26-99)
The New Age Outlaws music starts cooking, but the Road Dogg doesn't do the "Oh, you didn't know? Your ass better call somebody!" line for some reason. It takes them a minute but RD and Badd Ass finally emerge from backstage, tag team titles around their waists. RD has the dreds back in his hair. X-Pac is shown watching the NAO entrance from backstage on a monitor, and he's smiling. The NAO get in the ring and showboat for a few minutes; a lot of folks aren't in their seats yet but the Outlaws play up to those that are there. Billy Gunn gets the mic and remarks on all the teams in the back who are hungry for the championship belts. Edge and Christian then come into the ring from backstage and point out that, since they are the #1 contenders, they want a shot at the Outlaws tonight. The Outlaws agree, but see no point in waiting and attack Edge and Christian immediately. A small army of referees run in and break them up. It looks like we can expect to see the NAO on the PPV after all!

PPV: Unforgiven (9-26-99)
WWF Tag Team Championship: the New Age Outlaws (C) defeat Edge and Christian. As J.R. and Lawler discuss the NAO reunion and the mystery behind who initiated it, our tag team champs do their traditional mic work and Edge and Christian glare from ringside. Gunn and Edge start off. The two teams are well-matched and execute good moves while trading momentum. Soon, however, the Road Dgg is isolated and starts getting his ass kicked pretty badly. Gunn makes the mistake of getting into a huge argument with the referee, which allows Edge and Christian to do double-teaming. They focus in on the Road Dogg's lower back. Later in the match, both RD and Christian are down; Christian gets the tag but Gunn is too busy showboating to the crowd to notice Road Dogg reaching for him, and RD gets pummeled some more. Finally, the hot tag occurs (just barely) and Gunn cleans house. Soon all four men are in the ring and duking it out when the new Brood shows up at ringside to attack Edge and Christian. They allow Gunn to get the Fame-ass-er on Edge, and the NAO retain the titles. Edge and Christian chase the new Brood to the back. Later in the evening, X-Pac and Jericho are matched up. When X-Pac looks close to defeating Jericho late in the match, Y2J bodyguard Curtis Hughs runs in and knocks out the referee. He and Jericho begin double-teaming X-Pac. Fans expect Kane to run in, but instead the Road Dogg comes out (wearing a Mr. Ass shirt for some reason). RD goes after Jericho and clotheslines him out of the ring. X-Pac chases Hughs out. As X-Pac recovers, Jericho and Hughs regroup at ringside (after Jericho furiously knocks the steel steps around) and exchange dirty looks with the Road Dogg, who is daring them to re-enter. X-Pac and RD have reaffirmed their friendship. Is another Jericho/Road Dogg feud in store?

PPV: RAW (9-27-99)
The New Age Outlaws have issued an open challenge to any tag team that wants the belts. Jericho fights a match early in the evening against the Big Show, which ends in a DQ for interference. As Hughes is helping Jericho up the ramp, Road Dogg rushes out and attacks Hughes. Jericho leaps off the side of the ramp and goes around, but Road Dogg glares at him and yells threats from the stage. As he does, his music starts up and the crowd says his lines very clearly; hell, they're popping huge for the Dogg these days. YOU CAN'T HAVE HIM, HE'S MINE! Dogg pantomimes the "your ass better call somebody" for them since he has no mic. A little later in the evening, Road Dogg and Mr. Ass come out, schticking like crazy and ready to defend against whoever. Backstage, the Hollies are excited and run for the scale. But Kane's music begins, and X-Pac is with him! I guess the WWF saw the face NAOs and started smelling a possible DX reunion. Road Dogg and BABG have cleared the ring and can't believe who has challenged them. All appears mended in the land of X-Pac and Kane, presumably because X-Pac was grateful for Kane's save last week on SmackDown. X-Pac and Kane hit the ring and look out at the NAO. BABG has a huge "what the HELL?!" grin on his face. Road Dogg, too, is surprised, but he shakes X-Pac's hand before they square off. The Hollies come down and do some color commentary, bitching out everyone. X-Pac takes Road Dogg down with a kick to the face; when RD is slow getting up, X-Pac doesn't take advantage. BABG comes in; they fight briefly before X-Pac gets Kane in. After a beatin' Kane goes to chokeslam BABG, but Road Dogg stops him. That prompts X-Pac to run in and attack RD. Kane gets clotheslined out of the ring, and the Hollies rush up and attack the NAO. Kane chokeslams Hardcore and X-Pac delivers a brono buster to Crash. The match then ends-- DQ in favor of the Outlaws. The NAO backs away from Kane, but X-Pac hugs RD and exchanges a hand slap with BABG. X-Pac then raises the hands of his old buddies in victory. Kane, alone in one corner of the ring, watches in silence.

PPV: SmackDown! (9-30-99)
Chris Jericho defeats Road Dogg by DQ. The NAO are first out tonight and the crowd pops like crazy. Badd Ass Billy is wearing some uncomfortably short pants and a Road Dogg T-shirt, while Roadie is in a Mr. Ass shirt. Funny stuff. :-) They are sporting the tag team titles and do normal schtick upon entering the ring; the crowd is really into it. Jericho then comes on down accompanied by Curtis Hughes. Road Dogg gets tired of waiting on him and dives out of the ring to attack Jericho on the ramp. As they battle into the crowd, Hardcore and Crash Holly come to ringside (scale in tow). Road Dogg throws Jericho into the steps as the Hollies bitch on commentary about the RAW is WAR tag team title match they missed out on. Back in the ring, Jericho slaps RD around before the Road Dogg gets a little jivin' action on Y2J. Referee Earl Hebner tries to step in, but RD throws him out of the ring. BABG appears to be checking on the ref as Curtis Hughes jumps on the apron to hold Roadie for Jericho. The Dogg moves, however, and Y2J decks his bodyguard; RD capitalizes with a DDT. The ref calls for the bell to signal a Road Dogg DQ, but the competitors continue on. BABG gets a table out from under the ring and Roadie sets it up. As he is preparing to powerbomb Jericho through it, the Hollies rush the ring to attack the Road Dogg. Mr. Ass is distracted at ringside fighting Curtis Hughes, and he turns just in time to see Hardcore and Crash powerbomb Road Dogg through the table. BABG runs in but is quickly taken down by the Hollies. Jericho and Hughes make a hasty retreat, and the Hollies leave to a rousing chorus of boos a few moments later. BABG goes over to check on Road Dogg.
