Timeline: December 1999
12-2-99 (SmackDown!: Anaheim, CA)
The Road Dogg, X-Pac, and Billy Gunn present Triple H with a "wedding shower" by inviting him to the ring and offering him lots of presents, including toasters and lingerie. Road Dogg's gift-- a front-row ticket to Armageddon so Stephanie McMahon can watch her husband fight her father-- proves most popular. Later in the evening, the Rock defeats Al Snow but the New Age Outlaws run down to the ring to help Al beat up Rock afterwards. The Outlaws are part of the main event, as they team up with X-Pac against the Big Show and the Hardy Boyz. Very good match, which includes Road Dogg getting nailed by an ugly baseball slide and Jeff Hardy pulling off a senton bomb from the shoulders of the Big Show! The Outlaws lose the match, but retain the tag titles since they were not officially on the line.
12-4-99 (House Show: MSG, New York, NY)
The New Age Outlaws defend their tag team belts in the main event against the Rock and Mankind. According to reports, the Outlaws received a mixed pop while the ovation for the Rock and Sock Connection was-- well, you can guess. :-) Not much information on how the match itself went, except that the Rock's cover following a Rock Bottom was once again interrupted by Al Snow, and Al Snow got his ass kicked (Mankind even beat him up) afterwards.
12-5-99 (House Show: Hartford, CT)
The Road Dogg was not in attendance.
12-5-99 (House Show: Albany, NY)
In an Anything Goes match, Mankind (accompanied by Test) took on Mr. Ass (accompanied by the Road Dogg). Road Dogg gets on the mic and claims he cannot fight due to medical reasons (don't ask me, RD fans). He rips on himself a little bit, and then Mankind heads down to ringside with a wheelbarrow full of weapons. Mr. Ass at first refuses Mankind's offer at an anything-goes match, but Mankind's insults get a little too personal and it's on. Road Dogg argues with the referee a bit but isn't too involved until an impromptu hockey game begins in the ring (I'm not making this up) and Road Dogg hits Mankind. The match ends, however, when Mr. Ass gets Mandible Clawed and knocked out.
12-6-99 (RAW is WAR: Worcester, Massachusetts)
The Outlaws put their tag team titles on the line in a so-so matchup against Too Cool to start off the program. The match ended in a mess as Hardcore and Crash Holly ran in to attack Too Cool's running buddy Rikishi. Later in the evening, the Outlaws again made their presence felt as they interfered in the main event to attack the Rock and Mankind, their opponents this Sunday at Armageddon.
12-9-99 (SmackDown!: Boston, Massachusetts)
Road Dogg opened the show with a match against Chris Jericho. Y2J insults the Dogg fully beforehand. Chyna is at ringside to offer commentary, in anticipation of her upcoming match against Jericho at Armageddon. Pretty good match that goes back and forth-- no D-X interference, so Road Dogg is on his own. Jericho eventually gets a cover after a lionsault, and even though Road Dogg's foot was on the ropes the ref calls for the bell. Chyna points out the mistake and ref allows the match to continue. Moments later, Road Dogg gets a pin but when Jericho puts his foot on the ropes, Chyna shoves it off and the D-O-double-G gets a victory. Road Dogg shows up one more time at the end of the show to get beaten up, along with the rest of D-X, by Vince McMahon.
12-12-99 (Sunday Night HeAT: Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
Road Dogg was not on, but the Rock did cut a promo ripping on him.
12-12-99 (PPV: Armageddon: Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
The New Age Outlaws successfully defended their tag team championship belts in a lengthy and excellent match against the team of the Rock and Mankind.
12-13-99 (RAW is WAR: Tampa, FL)
The New Age Outlaws show up during a women's pudding match, involved in a clusterfrick that includes Kane, X-Pac, Tori, and Miss Kitty. Their actual match is a bit later in the show; they take on Kane in a triple threat which ends up being a handicap match. Mr. Ass has his wife and two kids at ringside; he kisses them beforehand. Decent and quick match that sees the Outlaws getting the victory, then quickly getting lost before Kane can come lurching after them.
12-16-99 (SmackDown!: Florida State University)
The Outlaws are out early to help beat up Test in a Stephanie Helmsley-planned assault. They later put their titles on the line against Patterson and Brisco in a no-DQ brawl. Interestingly, the stooges get the upper hand early by using powder, chains, and submission holds. The Outlaws win, obviously, but the old guys gave them a run for their money there for about... two minutes. The Outlaws also serve as part of the lumberjack team for the main event.
12-19-99 (Sunday Night HeAT: Florida State University)
Road Dogg isn't on.
12-20-99 (RAW is WAR: Houston, TX)
The New Age Outlaws defeat Test in a handicap match. This, apparently, is Stephanie's Christmas present to her ex-fiancee. Easy match for our boys, since they have the numbers advantage. Mr. Ass and the Road Dogg then get beaten up a little later in the evening when they dress up in Santa Claus outfits and are attacked by Mankind during his boiler room brawl. Hell, they even interfere in the Rock's match after that and in the main event, where they carry off Tori! (They get around, don't they?)
12-23-99 (SmackDown!: Dallas, TX)
Steph fakes a face turn, but Road Dogg still has to take on Test with no D-X interference. Test starts off fast and furious on the Dogg, and while Road Dogg is able to get in some offense, he's not much of a match for the broken-nosed blond. Test ends up planting Road Dogg with a high-flying elbow drop, but our degenerate manages to escape before Test can paste him with a chair as well. As usual, the Outlaws also interfere in the main event.
12-26-99 (Sunday Night HeAT: Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
Road Dogg was not on.
12-27-99 (RAW is WAR: Greensboro, NC)
D-X hits the ring early. Triple H and Steph cut a "we're in charge" interview, which is followed by a confrontation with the Rock and Mankind. Road Dogg doesn't do a whole lot, except get called out by Mankind for being a creative and entertaining wrestler that allowed himself to become nothing more than Triple H's bootlick. The Outlaws defend their tag titles against Too Cool in the second-to-last match of the evening. Decent match; crowd is into it. Road Dogg gets slapped around, as usual, and eventually X-Pac does a Factor on Grandmaster and throws Road Dogg on top of him to allow the Outlaws to retain. Of course, they pay for it; Road Dogg eats the first Rikishi Drop of his career (watch closely and you can tell; Rikishi has to show him how to hang on). X-Pac is about to get a butt driver (Banzai Drop) but Mr. Ass yanks him out of the ring. We then observe X-Pac on his knees at ringside with his arms thrown around the waist of his savior, Mr. Ass... kinda like Road Dogg used to do back before they joined D-X. This time, however, the D-O-double-G stays well away from that nonsense and escapes via the other side of the ring.
12-28-99 (SmackDown!: Richmond, VA)
Aired December 30. The main event for the evening is X-Pac vs. the Big Show in a non-title match. Showing no mercy to his pals, Triple H tells X-Pac that he will be fired if he does not win. Later, X-Pac discusses this backstage with the New Age Outlaws, who are amazed that Triple H would do such a thing. During the match, the Big Show is destroying X-Pac. Triple H, who is orchestrating the event, announces the Road Dogg as X-Pac's partner. Road Dogg comes to the ring immediately but is quickly overwhelmed by Big Show. At some point early on, Road Dogg apparently twists his ankle, as he can be seen with an obvious limp for the rest of the match and favors it quite a bit. Both announcers notice and mention the injury, but it didn't look to be anything serious. Eventually, Mr. Ass and Triple H join the fray, and X-Pac gets the pin on a dazed and bleeding Big Show.
12-29-99 (House show: Nashville, TN)
Road Dogg is not in attendance.
12-30-99 (House show: Memphis, TN)
Here's the word from someone who was at the show: "X-Pac/Road Dogg defeated Kane/Edge. They seemed to be phoning it in. Kane might as well not shown up. Road Dogg chased Tori to the back and Edge got some nearfalls on X-Pac. X-Pac got the pin after the X-factor."
