Catherine entered the office of the martial arts studio, which served as her training ground. Ready to start the day's session, she saw David talking on the phone.
"Yes sir, I agree completely. I won't go into it. Yes, it would be best to do that..." David talked as he turned around and suddenly noticed Cat. "...I do believe that wraps it up. Yes, I will get back to you later. Goodbye." With that David hung up the phone and turned toward Catherine.
"Who was that?" Catherine asked, the conversation seemed too important to have been wound up that quickly.
"I was talking to the Watchers Council about what happened last night. It seems we are very lucky, as we ran into a particularly nasty vampire." David continued. "Though she has been identified, she has not been named. She has killed slayers before," at this Catherine involuntarily stiffened
as David continued on, "but fortunately she is a very young vampire. I also know that she is with a group of other vampires, who are unfortunately also unnamed."
"What about the name she mentioned? Buffy Summers. Did the Watchers know anything about that name?" Catherine asked quietly.
"No, I am sorry but the Council couldn't tell us anything." David answered a little too quickly.
"Okay then, I guess we should get back to my training so we don't have to get lucky again." Catherine said. "I'm going out on patrol again tonight and I want to be ready."

"Buffy," Willow whined, "why couldn't we kill her? I mean you had her there; helpless, totally vulnerable, and you just let her go!" Willow finished, she was starting to sound angry.
"Willow, after the fourth new slayer that you kill you start to want a bit of a challenge." Buffy said calmly. "Besides, I want to mess with her mind a bit. If I know the Watchers, and I do, they aren't going to tell her about me because of the 'practices' that led to me leaving. So then poor dear Catherine is going to be left feeling all alone without anyone to trust. It will be so cool to crush her at that point. Anyone can kill, but it takes someone truly special to completely crush someone's spirit before you kill them." Willow grudgingly nodded her head at this and seemed to understand.
"Besides Wills, I think you need to remember something." Buffy said in a perfectly calm voice.
"What?" Willow asked a little cautiously.
Just as calmly as before, but in a voice that made it clear that she was not going to be argued with, Buffy said. "That Angelus and I are in charge. So please, as a friend...don't question me."
