Cinema Errors

You would think that with the money, skill and time that go into making a movie, filmmakers would be very cautious and thorough about not making or fixing mistakes. Sometimes however this is not the case, with mistakes so obvious that one would wonder about the mental state of the film crew who created the scene.
The following are scenes that contain some interesting mistakes.

When I first saw this mistake in the movie Fled, it was so obvious that at first I thought it was done on purpose. After I watched it again I realised that what ever editor it was that missed this one probably never got a job in movies again. The scene in question is a conversation between Stephen Baldwin and Lawrence Fishburne where Stephen is wearing a jacket in one scene and in the very next cut the jacket is missing only to reappear in the following cut.

One of the most famous blunders as far as movies go is more of a historical mistake than a blunder. The movie is Gone With the Wind and the scene is where Scarlett O'Hara is walking down a street at night time where an electric light bulb is clearly visible. The only problem with this is that there were no electric light bulbs in the civil war days.

There is a scene in the movie Air America where the stars Mel Gibson and Robert Downey jr. are dangling upside down in an upturned airplane. Who ever shot this scene has obviously never heard of the law of gravity since Mel Gibsons necklace is still hanging toward his chest and not towards the ground which in this case should be in the other direction. Obviously this scene was shot right way up.

In the Eddie Murphy film 48 Hours, Eddie is in a car scene where he is wearing a set of handcuffs. Reminiscent of Fled, the handcuffs disappear in the next scene only to reappear in the following one.

Another one for the changing props department is a scene in Casablanca where Humphrey Bogart is waiting for a train in what is an obviously wet coat. As he enters the train, which is a continuation of the previous scene, his coat is dry. Maybe Bogart was afraid of getting Pneumonia.
