Blasters | |
Blasters are perhaps the most common weapon in the known galaxy, being used by both military personnel as well as civilians. In the word of the infamous smuggler, Han Solo, "There's no match for a good blaster at your side." To make things a bit simpler, there is a quickie blaster statistics table that lists the basics of most popular models. | ![]() |
Hold-out blasters
are perhaps the best form of personal defense weapon that one may find
on worlds where blasters are restricted.
They are usually small enough to be
hid in the palm of a human hand and are fairly cheap.
()Blaster pistols
are the most common weapon in the galaxy and are the next step up from
hold-outs. They are popular with urban
policeforces, traders and anyone else
who needs to pack respectable firepower in a compact package.
Blaster carbines
are shorter and less accurate than blaster rifles, the weapons they are
based upon. However, they are rugged and
reliable and malfunctions are very
rare. These weapons are less advanced than blaster rifles, and older models
can often be found at
greatly discounted prices.
Among the most popular personal weapons
in the galaxy, ()blaster rifles are in common
use throughout the Imperial and Alliance forces.
Most are restricted on many worlds,
being limited legally to only military and police forces.
Longer and more powerful than blaster
rifles, repeating blasters are for large
scale actions, often supplementing ground squads and
providing cover for artillery gunners
while their weapons are being set up. These weapons are normally about
one to one-and-a-half
meters long, and can be run off of
power packs or attached to generators for unlimited firepower. They are
normally available only to the
military.
()Sniper Blasters, though not
as common as normal blasters, are just as useful. Most of these cost much
more than normal
blasters. They have long ranges and a powerful punch,
some have ranges that reach up to 3 km.
Add-ons and accessories that are useful to know about, if not own.

Common Blasters
This table is intended to provide the GM a basic selection
of slightly less than top of the line blasters, excellent for struggling
PCs, thugs, pirates and local military forces. These weapons are effectively
sterile, as they have been widely produced under thousands of labels. They
are all simple, reliable, time-proven weapons that have had few unknown
quirks, flaws or eccentricities. (unless otherwise noted, all power packs
for blasters cost 25 credits)
