Kashan Industries, one of the leading blaster manufacturers in the Palvar Sector, recently introduced their first slugthrowing weapon, the AK-47, in an attempt to steal some of the business away Mestic Munitions, who has been quite successful in selling their M-16 line of of automatic weapons along with a variety of other slugthrowers, missiles, and bombs. The AK-47 is nothing more than a cheap rip off of the M-16. Kashan Industries purchased several dozen M-16s from Mestic through several agents posing as merchants. Kashan's research and development department studied the weapons and incorporated many of its aspects into their own AK-47 design. However, Kashan Industries, having no real experience with any sort of hand-held weapons other than blasters, finally released the AK-47 on the open market, taking heavy losses due to its inferiority to the cheaper and proven M-16. The AK-47 itself doesn't resemble an M-16 in anyway. This was to make sure that Mestic didn't notice the rip-off of their design quickly. The overall success of the M-16 line of slugthrowing rifles, Mestic Munitions set out to design an advanced version of the M-16h heavy assault rifle. The resulting weapon was the AR-15, quite similar to the M-16 in appearance with their model 203 grenade launcher attached under the barrel. The av-2000 is a massive weapon capable of firing a 15mm projectile at super-sonic speeds. It is generally mounted on a bipod and fired from a distance using the sighting macroscope. Very few were sold to non-military forces, and those that were, weren't used in their intended role. There has been more than one incident where an av-2000 was used in assassinations, literally blasting their targets into charred bits and pieces. During initial tests of the av-2000, it was fired at several older ground vehiles ranging from trucks up to repulsortanks. In all cases, the av-2000 was able to pierce through the armor and explode inside the vehicle. The only problem discovered was that the av-2000 is generally too powerful for its own good when used against people or lightly armored vehicles, often times the shell going right through the target without exploding. The rifle itself breaks down into three main parts: the stock, the barrel, and the main body. All must be assembled in order for the weapon to function. It also comes with a state of the art rifle silencer, a sighting macroscope, and a cleaning kit. The design of the Mestic Munitions Rifle, Caliber 7.62mm, M-14 was first conceived during the final years of the Clone Wars. Airborne units wanted a weapon with lightness and select-fire capabilities of the M1 Carbine, but with the killing power of the M-1 Rifle, so began the development of just such a rifle under the auspices of the T20 Project. The standard base model of the M-16 comes standard with a custom fit strap, a special ammo clip belt, and a flash suppressor. It has two modes, semi-automatic and full-automatic, which the user can switch between by flipping a thumb switch above the handle. Mestic sells several other versions of the M-16, each customized to specific needs of particular uses, such as infantry, stealth, and heavy weapons support. The stock M-16 is extremely popular among many planetary defense forces, criminal organizations, police forces, and some not very well supplied New Republic outposts. Kashan Industries, a strong rival of Mestic, has created a duplicate rifle with a different look, a larger standard ammunition clip, and a claim of overall superiority. The M-16c automatic rifle was built with stealth and silence in mind. It is the shortest weapon in the M-16 family, with the stock removed to make it more mobile and a second handle near the front for easy wielding. The M-16h is the most powerful rifle in the M-16 family and is meant to be issued to the heavy weapons operator in a squad. Its main feature is a grenade launcher with is mounted under the barrel. The grenade launcher provides the user with superior firepower and longer range than most standard rifles. Some clever field technicians have been known to modify the grenade launcher to fire a single anti-vehicle missile (3D speeder scale), however, often times this results in the missile becoming jammed in the launcher and usually detonating before the soldier using has a chance to flee. In Game Terms: Modifying the grenade launcher into a missile launcher requires that all grenades first be removed (either fired or removed by the character for throwing or some other purpose). A Moderate Firearms Repair roll is required to modify the launcher to fire only small missiles (usually small motar shells). On a Wild Die mishap roll of 6 when firing the launcher, the launcher becomes jammed and the missile will detonate in 1D rounds. Missiles: 3D speeder scale, blast radius 8 meters. The M-16m rifle is perhaps one of the best sharpshooter's weapons ever created. They come in a variety of camoflauge designs, but the basic black is the most common variety seen. The M-16m comes standard with a top of the line silencer and a sighting macroscope for medium to long range shots. The M-16m is a specially made weapon, unlike all the other M-16 models which are all first constructed as the basic M-16 then modified, the M-16m is hand crafted separately from all other weapons in the factories, with a turn out rate of only 25 per week, per factory. This large, heavy sniper rifle is made in very limited quantities. It is a bolt action rifle, so rapid fire is impossible, the bolt must be removed to load each round. A fluted barrel reduces weight and speeds up cooling without sacrificing the stiffness required for accuracy. Even so, the weapon weighs 23 pounds, making the use of a bipod necessary. A muzzle brake deflects propellant gases rearward, diminishing kick. Ammo: The .50 caliber sniper round is primarily intended to knock out vehicles and weapons. It can shatter a tank's thermal gun sight or cripple an aircraft engine. A huge charge sends the 1.5 ounce bullet out the muzzle with five times the energy of a standard 7.62-mm round. A hardened tungsten-carbide penetrator inside the projectile can pierce four inch armor, while incendiary material in the nose will touch off stored ammunition or a fuel tank. Constructed of modern synthetics, it is very rugged for such a light rifle. It is only a little larger than the E-11, but has much superior range. The magazine fits over the barrel, and the electronic mechanism provides positive ignition and rotates the chamber. Because there is no case needed, there is nothing left in the chamber after firing. Should there be a misfire, or the need to clear a live round from the chamber, there is a small ejection port along the bottom of the rifle. Originally designed as a selective-fire weapon, it was latter decided that the SR-14 should be fitted with a burst limiter to conserve ammunition. This is due to the 4,000rpm cyclic rate possible with the caseless design and the electronic trigger, which could empty the magazine in well under a second. The recoil alone would have been unmanageable, never mind the cost of feeding these beasts. To increase versatility, a universal mounting rail for optical sights has been mounted over the reciever. SurvivaTec prides itself on producing a wide variety of projectiles for nearly every situation one can encounter, including high-explosive, saboted slugs, tracers and soft slugs. There is also a low pressure round available, intended for the PC-14 pistol. In the SR-14, it may be used in conjunction with an optional baffle-type sound suppressor. Originally intended as hunting arm, it has been adopted by several mercenary companies in varying degrees. It has also been used by the criminal Rebellion Against His Majesty as an assassins weapon, negating the effectiveness of the standard ray shielding, and snuffing out the lives of several of His Majesty's trusted advisors. It is unfortunate that such a fine weapon should be disgraced by the actions of a few.

Made of the same material and using the same caliber as the SR-14, the CP-14 is a very well made companion pistol. Proven as effective as the DL-18 in real-world shootings, the CP-14 is a fairly compact handgun. Intended to be fired only with soft slugs and low-pressure loadings of the 6.59x38mm caseless round, it can fire the full pressured rounds in an emergency. It should be noted that those rounds will produce a great deal of recoil and wear. It can also use the long, fifty-round magazine fromt he SR-14, but it is to unweildy to be used in anything other than an extreme emergency.

A very effective rifle, the Merr-Sonn Whisper fires a heavy, 11.62mm diameter, subsonic round. Fitted with a baffle type sound suppresser and match grade construction, it has many advantages over the typical sniper's blaster. The first is near total silence and no optical signature. This is because the suppresser also acts to contain the muzzle flash associated with there primitive weapons. Using a primitive, turn-bolt action, it has proven it's worth on several occasions in the hands of His Majesty's Royal Guard, in neutralizing several threats to His royal life without creating a major public disturbance. It has been used by the "red men" for several years as a counter-sniper's weapon, as His Majesty wishes not to panic the good and loyal citizens of the galaxy, nor to support the Criminal Rebellion by advertising their cowardly attempts on his life.
