TARKIN: The Imperial Senate will no longer be of any concern to us. I've just received word that the Emperor has dissolved the council permanently. The last remnants of the Old Republic have been swept away.
TAGGE: That's impossible! How will the Emperor maintain control without the bureaucracy?
TARKIN: The regional governors now have direct control over territories. Fear will keep the local systems in line. Fear of this battle station.

Unfortunately, WEG is gone. The centralized company behind SW roleplaying is no more. We must all work together to continue on.
LEIA: This is our most desperate hour. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.

Star Wars RPG: 1987-1998

Ladies and gentlemen, this page has been turned black in mourning. As you may or may not know as of this very moment West End Games has filed for bankruptcy and all it's product lines have ceased production. This very unexpected news came to use just a few days ago from Eric at WEG:
Folks:
Right now, no one here can confirm or deny any of the rumors.
For the record, the bulk of the Star Wars creative staff at West End Games is no longer in WEG's employ. The circumstances of our departure is not currently something I can discuss.
Take that however you like: we could all have been fired for being idiots, or we're part of a larger layoff. I'm not saying which. Sorry.
Note that the full scoop will be made available at a later date.
Eric S. Trautmann
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed and saddened by WEG's fate. Everything eventually comes to an end- this happened to be more unexpected than some. But that doesn't mean that we stop being creative- or that web sites like this will fade away, or the SWRPG mailing list stops cold. No, the fans will always be here, even if the game is not...

On a slightly different note- it's sad that the game had to come to an end, but everyone at WEG- you guys gave us one HELL of a ride in the meantime. You breathed life into the universe outside the frames of the film, and you gave us something to do every weekend for the last 10 years. Words cannot convey the appreciation we all share for you- but I can try: Thank you. May The Force be with us all...

Fortunately for us, Star Wars RPG will never die.  It may take hits and lay low for some time, but it will always live on. If you have any ideas or information please send it to me.  I will give credit to those that help me build my page.
