29th May 2000 @ Wembley Arena, London

Wembley Tickets12,000 of the band's faithful gathered to witness Pearl Jam's return to UK shores - not to be disappointed.

The evening began with an energetic warm up from support band The MonkeyWrench , who screamed and bounced their way into the hearts of many, but no matter how good they were, it was impossible to throw thoughts of what was to come aside.
And when they did arrive, as could be expected, all doubts were put to rest. A torrent of new stuff was hurled at the appreciative crowd, with Of The Girl, Breakerfall, Grievance, God's Dice and then Light Years strung together to provide a glorious opener.
Then the pace lifted somewhat with the epic Corduroy speaking the words that we were all thinking, complete with mad lighting effects, then on to the classic Animal.
Now Eddie annouces that he doubts anyone has heard the next one, and lauches into the recent big one - Given To Fly. Even Flow is next, before the tone is brought right down to accomodate their latest offering, Nothing as it Seems. This was followed up by another classic - Daughter, with the usual improv section bringing us an extract of The Wrong Child, and then back to Yield-land for Faithfull, MFC, Wishlist and a blistering Do The Evolution. The section concluded with heavy-weights Black and Alive.
After a short break, the guys return for the first of two encores, this one offering a broad selection of tunes. We start with a cover of The La's Timeless Melody, then onto the spectacular Insignificance. The excellent Rearviewmirror is next, swamped with memories of the old days, then we are treated to I Got Shit from the Merkinball single, forfilling a request Ed received the night before. Betterman and Go sum up this encore, leaving the crowd standing up in ear-cracking ovation.
But all was not over, as a third and final appearance of the Seattle crew brought us the camp Soon Forget, which Eddie messes up grandly, the beautiful Soldier of Love, and finally the ultimate B-Side, Yellow Ledbetter.

Pictures from the gig coming soon...!
