Pulp
Different Class
Pulp is my favorite Brit-pop band because they are so goddamn funny.
Listen to "Common People" where Jarvis Cocker shreds apart any
working-class pretensions of the upper-class, or "Underwear," a wickedly
evil and funny song. Pulp kept me afloat during a lot of down times
because listening to Mr. Cocker gives me a feeling that I'm better than
everyone, that I'm the only non-asshole in the world, and everybody else
is a joke. It's uplifting music for the condescending geeks of the
world, not that I'm a geek or anything. No, I'm cool, ya dig.
