Nina's Testimony

My testimony is a very long, intense story. I should start from the beginning and come to the present...so I am! I was raised Southern Baptist. My folks were good Christians and my dad was even in a gospel band. I was always exposed to God even though we didn't go to church much. The only time I had gone to church constantly was when I was around 8. After that, we never really went.

In the summer of '95, I went to Centrefudge ((a church camp)) with my Uncle's youth group. They asked me if I was a Christian...I had no clue what that was! So, I just said 'undecided'. Little did I know, a few days, I'd give my heart to the Lord at 13 years old. I didn't understand much about being one though...all I knew was the basic belief and what I knew from my dad's songs.

A year after I was saved, my family life became a huge mess. In all that time, I was never bitter or mad at God. Instead, I started to pray. Praying helped, because things got better. I started wanting a closer relationship with God, but didn't really know how. Me and my folks started going to church which really helped. But, nothing much happened until one day, a man at Wal-Mart gave me a Gideon Bible. I began reading the verses in the back. That was the beginning of God's plan for me I guess. Because only a short time after that, I started witnessing to people.

April of 2000, I went to a crusade at a high school that the local churches were putting on. That's where I first felt God calling me into the mission. Ever since then, I knew that my plan in life was suppose to be a missionary for God. I haven't done any yet, but I know when the time comes, He'll send me.
