Newsies Report
Little Intro- Just imagine the newsie actors in high school doing a report on the real 1899 strike. I need not say more!
Newsies: a report by Group A which includes Christian Bale, Gabriel Damon, Trey Parker, Aaron Lohr, Max Casella, David Moscow
*Christian and Gabe walk out in front of the camera*
Christian: *holding a piece of paper* This is a report on the newsboys’ strike of 1899.
Gabe: *stands there grinning into the camera*
Christian: PSH *elbows Gabe*
Gabe: Uh…*looks down at paper in hand* The End.
Christian: *whispers loudly* No, ya idiot! Wrong page. *turns the paper over*
Gabe: Oh…uh…The newsboys sold for newspaper people like Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Heast. *looks up grinning at the camera again*
*Christian and Gabe walk away from the camera, but the camera stay in the same place*
Christian: PSH! *waves at the camera person*
Camera person: *finally puts the camera back on them*
Christian: Now we will let David explain what happen.
David: *is all conservative looking in a suit* In 1899, the newsboys in New York City went on strike because The World and The Journal raised the prices of their papers by a 10th of a cent…
*In the background you can see Trey, Aaron, and Max making faces and putting bunny ears on David. Trey holds up a sign the says "Hi Mom". David looks back, but they’re just standing there looking innocent. Christian finally pushes them out of view*
David: And that is what happen. *looks all proud of himself for not slipping up*
Gabe: *peeks into the camera view with a goofy look on his face* Now we go to Trey and Aaron to find out who the newsies were.
*camera whirls around to Trey*
Trey: There was a was a lot of different boys who was involved in this strike like…*notices Aaron is not beside him*
*Gestures Aaron to come on. Aaron shakes his head ‘no’ but Christian and Max push him into camera view*
Aaron: *turns red and gives a little wave at the camera*
Trey: First there was the leader called Kid Blink. He wore an eye patch. *holds up an eye patch* Hey, you can play pirate with this things. *puts it on* ARG, matey! *gets smacked in the back of the head by a hand off camera* Ouch, okay I get the point. *continues on* Then there was this newsboy leader named David Simmons.
Aaron: *scratches head in confusion*
Trey: *whispers* Your turn.
Aaron: *keeps eyes on the floor* Kid Blink and David Simmons were accused of taking a bribe and were called scabs? *scrunches face* ewwww…
Max: *walks on and pushes them out of camera view* My turn, get off! *gets all dramatic like William Shatner ((author note: icky! LOL!))* In 1899, the street of New York City echoed with the voices of newsies, peddling the newspapers of Joseph Pulitzer, William Randolph Hearst and other giants of the newspaper world. On every street corner you saw 'em carrying the banner, bringing you the news for a penny a pape. Poor orphans and run aways, the newsies were a ragged army, without a leader, until one day when all that changed.
*Christian and Gabe walk into camera view again*
Gabe: *big grin* The End.
