I personally love this book. I discovered it a year ago at my library and after I read it, I called a second-hand bookstore and got myself a copy of it. I was really lucky because I found it at the first bookstore I called.
It is a very detailed look at the creation of the show. The book is very informative. It tells you how Murphy Brown evolved from idea to script to casting and finally to television. It has one chapter completely about the week spent filming an episode (the chapter was about the filming of "The Brothers Silverberg," the season 2 premiere). It gives a good behind-the-scenes look at the show. There are character descriptions and actor biographies. The character descriptions were very interesting to read because it mentioned what the actors thought their character's background would be. This sometimes changed. (Example: Robert Pastorelli thought that Eldin was an orphan, but his mom Rita becomes a reoccuring character later.)
This book is fantastic!!!! I recommend you try to get yourself a copy it you haven't already!
