I have had very few responses to my survey. In total, I have had six. So I am posting them here. I hope more people will respond soon. It does not take very much time to answer these questions after all!
NOTE: This is word-for-word what these people said (unless everyone agreed. In that case (like in question number 1) I just paraphrased.) When the word "I" is used, it is not my personal opinion, but quoting what the person said.
1. Did you watch the show from the beginning, or did you start watching later?
Five people started watching later, but did see the show in syndication. One person says: Unfortunately, I started watching Murphy Brown at the end of the 3rd season and became totally interested during the 4th.
The fifth person says: "I started to watch the show as soon as it started in Brazilian pay tv. I have watched almost all seasons except the first one and the 95-96 season.
2. What is your very favorite episode?
- My favorite three: "Burger, She Wrote," "The 390th Broadcast," and "The Good Nephew."
- The one when Frank furnishes his apartment by calling 1-800 everything and gets a girlfriend too. I also like when Frank got Murphy a sister for her birthday. [NOTE: I WILL LOOK UP THESE TITLES SOON]
- Too hard to pick just one!!!
- I have so many, but my most favorite
is Birth 101 (Who couldn't love that episode?)
- Oh my God so many!! Well I think my favorite is "It's Just Like Riding a Bike" when Murphy and Peter sleep together. But there are so many others.. "The Strike" is fabulous, "My Movie With Louis"...
- Uh Oh! 1,2,3; Birth 101; Ship at Phil's; One; The Thrill of the Hunt; The Tip of the Silveburg; Operation: Murphy Brown; From here to Jerusalem; Opus One; Never can say Good Bye
3. Who is your very favorite charcater?
- Murphy
- I liked how Corky's character grew during the series. I also liked Miller Redfield because he was so consisitently stupid... My absolute favorite -- Andrew J. Lansing, III -- he was so evil -- and his uncle was so nuts!!
- Peter Hunt (Scott Bakula)!!!! He was my favorite character besides Murphy....
- It is a shame not to say Murphy, but I she is my second favorite. Miles Silverberg is my favorite character.
- Who else??? Murphy, of course!
- Murphy Brown
4. Which charcater did you like more: Kay or Miles?
- Miles
- Kay because she was a stronger character and a better foil for Murphy. Miles was too whiny.
- Miles but Kay did an OK job.
- Miles (Sorry Lily)!
- I loved Miles. I think it was very difficult fo Lily to jump into his place.
- Miles
5. If Julia Roberts didn't appear in the final episode what do you think Frank's storyline would be?
- I did not watch the final episode.
- I don't remember the final episode, but Frank would probably just complain about his life.
- Frank would have got together with Murphy!!! Ha Ha Ha!
- He would probably find a nice woman who would put up with all of his problems, yeah right! Ha, ha. I think Murphy and Frank would be forever friends and that he would eventually ask Murphy to marry him. I know it is a little far fetched.
- Frank could try to get together with Kay, That would be soemthing very unexpected. (Although, there was something in the air on that episode that Kay dresses herself as a man, don't you think?)
- End up with Murphy
6. What did you think of the final episode?
- I don't remember it, except I don't think they had a group hug like the Mary Tyler Moore Show did. [NOTE: She is correct. They did not.]
- I thought the last episode was good, but I wanted Peter Hunt to come back and whick Murphy away and get married. But I thought it was very cute of Eldin to ask himself!!! :)
- I thought it was one of the most emotionally
packed episodes since Birth 101. It was a great ending to a great run of a great show.
- I thought it was very touching. But I kind of missed the sharp inteligent humor that was Murphy Brown's mark.
- Liked it.
