Rove McManus

ROVE the show 11pm Wednesday Nights Channel 9

I suppose your wondering who the hell is Rove McManus? All I have to say is you uncultured person, go stand in the corner!!!

Rove McManus is one of the hottest comedians in the counrtry. You may remember him from Good New Week (he was the one who ate the raw kidney)

Up until the end of 1998 he was host of "The Loft". a live TV show on Channel 31, which also starred Kim Hope from GNW. There is more info about this here. That year he also worked on a show for thecomedychannel called "Dilemma", on which four people face difficult dilemmas, and are awarded points for their efforts

In early 1998, Rove joined Channel Nine and began work on a late night shows for them. There was also a rumour that he may replace Daryl Somers as host of Hey Hey It's Saturday if this is his last year... (finger crossed. . . depends can Rove play the drums?).

You may also regognise him from the Solo ads

Rove has appeared on many of the "Super Debate" series, including "Middle Age Is Sexy", "The Queen Needs A Facelift" and "It's Better Being Single."

The 22 September 1999 saw the beginning of Rove's own show called funnily enough - "rove" Wednesdays about 11ish, along with other great comedians Peter Helliar, Corinne Grant and Dave Callan.

Here is a interview with Rove taken from the ESPY WEBSITE

Favorite Morning Beverage:The milk that's left at the bottom of a bowl of Coco Pops. It's all chocolatey and stuff.

Biggest fear:Answering questionnaires - AAAARGH! It's HAPPENED AGAIN!!!

How long have you been doing stand-up?:5 metres

Other Personal Info:Jobs I would want to do other than comedy include - Ghostbuster, Pro-Wrestler, Cartoon Character, Cuddly Toy, Elephant, Whoopee Cushion.

Career Highlights:Introducing Humphrey B. Bear on stage at the Adelaide Fringe 'Lark in the Park' Show. (It's hard not to get a big head after something like that), assassinating Daryl Somers (hasn't happened yet, but shouldn't be too long now...)

Career Lowlight:Being turned down for the lead role in 'Babe' because I was "too realistic".
