Summary:
|
A Western structured along familiar lines, telling a yarn about the conflict between a pair of old gunslingers. Douglas is Handsome Harry Holland, who wanders into the town of Bell Citty and encounters a spoiled, rich young man (Jason Michas) who challenges him to a draw. In the fracas, Holland is wounded but the sheriff is killed, causing his deputy to drag famous old gunman Sam Starret (James Coburn) out of alcholic retirement and assign him to bring in Holland. The two veterans end up joining forces to fight the crooked family that runs Bell City. The tone of the film is tongue-in-cheek and the pleasure comes from watching Douglas and Coburn somewhat poking fun at the kind of movie in which both had excelled in years past. |
