Reach Out

How do we deal with that day

With all the loss and pain?

Or begin to understand

Or even try to explain?

How can our hearts not break

Every time we see and hear

All those who lost so much

Or hold back one single tear?

How do we move forward

And learn from that day

How do we make things better

Or brighten up someone's way?

To realize we need to pull together

To lend each other a helping hand

And by reaching out in love

 As Americans we will stand.
