A Lighthouse

There is a lighthouse at the edge of the sea
Warning ships of the dangers they're unable to see.
When they come into view a signal goes forth
A beacon in the night directing their course.
In the dark of the night unable to see
A ship with no direction is guided aimlessly.
Unaware of the perils of the rocky shoreline
Can be shipwrecked without any forewarning sign.
My life like the ship needs that beacon of light
In the darkness of this world to give me clear sight.
Avoiding the perils of the rocky shoreline
A lighthouse of hope is God's blessed Sonshine.
For He's given His Word to shine in my life.
To guide me through the waters of peril and strife.
Like the lighthouse that stands on the edge of the sea,
God's Word gives light and direction to me.
