Review: One has to wonder where the hell this idea came from, but no matter what, it does make for an entertaining film--but not by much. It actually takes Jason roughly 50 minutes before he finally gets to Manhattan, but once he does, all hell breaks lose, and it's pretty funny to watch.
The graduating class of some high school near Crystal Lake is taking a boat trip to Manhattan, but before they can leave the docks, Jason's walking corpse stows away on-board. On the way to New York, he dispatches most of the class, leaving only the key teenage couple and a few other soon-to-be-victims who actually arrive on the island. Once they get there...well, watchout, Mahattan.
This entry has some good death scenes, some really funny death scenes, and some really lame death scenes. There's a lot of visual humor played out in this one (Jason is starting to become the audience favorite by this time in the series, just like the later Nightmare on Elm St. movies), but also a lot of boring interplay between the students and teachers while on the boat. Fast-forward to the New York scenes and you won't be disappointed, but the movie all-together is a bit tiresome.

Trivia: Kane Hodder, who plays Jason, can actually vomit on cue. The scene at the very end of the film in which Jason pukes was done literally, without any added special-effects.
