Review: Things are amiss at the Walnut Lake supermarket. The store's co-owners have decided to sell the store, meaning everyone who works there will be out of a job. The night crew is gathered together to markdown everything in the store, and to complicate matters, a young female checkout girl (Cox) is being stalked by an ex-boyfriend who's just gotten out of jail.
It's not too long before people start getting offed in a variety of clever ways. In fact, about the only real saving graces of Intruder are the cool death scenes (make sure you see the uncut import version of the film, as the MPAA sliced the hell out of this death scenes) and Spiegel's interesting directing (who would have ever thought to film a shot from the POV of a telephone base?). The story leaves you kinda disinterested, and some of the acting is just awful, but there just might be enough gore and twists in the flick to appease the appetite of the average slasher fan.
Trivia: Scott Spiegel is good friends with many of the cast/crew of the Evil Dead movies, and makes good use of his friendship by casting both Sam and Ted Raimi, as well as heroic Bruce Campbell, in this film.
