Review: On New Year's Eve (duh), a sorta-ritzy L.A. hotel is hosting one of those four hour NYE specials, this one run by a local punk rock (of course, by then it was being called "New Wave") radio station. There's this killer who is on the lose in the city, and before long, it's become clear that he's on his way to the celebration to kill Blaze, the show's host.
Of course, there's a twist, but I won't spoil that for you, as it's about the only attempt this movie makes to be original...but it doesn't really work well, because you can see it coming from a mile away. The end action sequence, which takes place in an elevator shaft, is pretty inventive and cool, but doesn't really make up for the other 80 minutes of bullshit you have to sit through in order to get to it.
