Munkustrap paced. He paced, as though he was making a critical choice, one that would affect the world.
Chrychaesa, a once beautiful queen watched from the shadows, almost ashamed of her now human form.
The others were good to her, but they were good because they pitied her. They pitied how she was, and they tried not to make it seem like it made a difference. But it had. She could tell that there was pain of sympathy in their eyes when they talked to her.
She missed how things were, how they used to be. She missed her own fur and paws. She missed playing with the kittens. They could now out run her with the greatest of ease. She could no longer push Pouncival or Tumblebrutus in the lake, for she no longer could hear them coming. They took great delight in this for a while. She now had to be careful of the claws of Munkustrap when she took his paw. It felt so rough and awkward in her human hand. She knew it was painful for Munkustrap to be around her. So many..... memories.
Chryssie took a deep breath and forced herself to walk to Munkustrap.
"Munkustrap? What is the matter? You don't normally pace like this."
"Oh, Chryssie..." Munkustrap sighed.
"A lot's on my mind."
"Tell me about it." Chryssie said sitting down and looking at him, though she had to squint to see him. She wished she had her cat senses and abilities, she wouldn't have to look as hard into the dark.
Munkustrap sat by her in the light. It pained him to thin that once they could see each other perfectly in the dark, and they had used it as a camouflage. But now she was blinded in it.
"Alonzo is going through some tests, to prove he's a good secondary leader."
"Tests? What kind of tests?"
"Well first he has to guard certain kittens. I'm thinking about using Electra and Etcetera. They are always a handful. He needs to handle himself in a robbery situation, and I think Mungojerrie and Rumpleteaser will be used with that. He also needs to know what to do during one of the Macavity scares. We'll be setting one up for him. He needs to make sure how to settle personal conflicts too."
"Oh." said Chryssie. She looked down at her human hands.
"Maybe you can help me." Munkustrap said.
"You can help me contrive a personal problem."
"Well let's see. I can pretend to be in an argument with you over something. Or maybe with Demeter."
"No, Demeter is busy helping out with the other things we need done. Argue with me."
"No wait! Tugger and me! We sometimes bicker."
"You do that then. Talk to him about it and let me know."
"Well what do we argue about?"
"We'll think of something." "Munkustrap then quieted down and started to pace again.
"What's on your mind now?"
"Oh I'm just getting nervous about Macavity. He's been awfully quiet ever since you..."
"I know." Chryssie said and turned him around so his back was towards her.
She rubbed his shoulders, and she could hear him sigh with the effort to relax. She hit a spot, and he purred slightly.
"That feels good."
"Yeah, it's nice to know these human hands are good for something." Chryssie said.
Macavity angrily sat in thought.
So Chrychaesa is back, he thought. He thought that all he would get out of this is the anguish if defeat due to Chrychaesa.
But then he realized that she was human, and humans could easily be killed. She no longer had the cat agility, speed, and the fierce ability to fight. She would also be noticeable, and easy to injure.
Then he began to plan, and plan viciously. He would be able to put Chryssie out of the way.
He had learned that a trainee would begin his testing, and that the Jellicles would create a battle scene. He would use this to his advantage.
"Finally Chrychaesa, there will be no escape for you."
Alonzo looked down. Today, his testing to be a Jellicle leader would come.
"Why am I doing this. I'm not sure how to handle myself. I don't even know if I should be a leader."
"Of course you should, why be so unsure about yo'self?"
"Hey Rumpleteaser and Mungojerrie."
"Ello then."
"What's the matter you two? You normally don't talk to me."
"Well we saw you mopin' around so we thought we might want t' add t' it."
"Oh, well you really are too kind."
"Yeah we know. I really think we should start annoyin' you more often. It may be a test t' see 'ow far yo' tolerance goes." Rumpleteaser said and giggled mischievously.
"Oh Mungojerrie and Rumpleteaser, would you stop teasing poor Alonzo like that?" A small voice emerged from the shadows.
"Oh, 'ello Etcet'ra. Where's Electra? She's usually with you."
"Well, we decided to get it together and just stop talking for a while just to see how long it takes the other to crack."
"Oh we see. Well don't worry, it seems as though you are well on your way. You usually can't survive without Electra."
"I can too!" Etcetera sniffed.
"I've made it one whole day so far." The older cats started laughing.
"Yo' cute." Mungojerrie said through a smiling face.
"Humph!" Rumpleteaser said looking disdainfully at her brother.
"Oh 'Teasa', stop bein' so protective, I didn't mean nothin'."
"You didn't mean anything." Alonzo corrected.
"Whateva'." Mungojerrie said as if brushing it off.
"See you lata'."
"Yeah." Alonzo said watching them leave then leaving himself.
"Is the coast clear?" Asked a voice from the shadows.
"Perfectly."
"Well what did you find out?"
"Alonzo has been bent out of shape because of a test, Electra." Electra breathed a sigh of relief.
"OK, cause I thought I had done something."
"Oh no, we wouldn't want your sweetie to be mad at you would we?"
"QUIET!"
"OK..." Etcetera laughed and together they headed out.
Alonzo sat down on the trunk of the car.
"The test starts soon." He said. Chryssie saw him sitting and cheerfully sat next to him.
"Hey Alonzo. You nervous about the test?"
"Hey Chryssie. Yes I am nervous." Chryssie lightly tapped his shoulder and said
"Well all you need to do is act like yourself. My big suggestion to you is: forget it's a test. Forget that we'll be watching you. Just think about how you usually would. Act normally. Then you'll breeze through it. As soon as Munkustrap says
"Let the test begin" then you just start going about your daily life."
"Do you really think it's that simple?" Alonzo asked.
"Sure, why if they didn't think that you weren't capable of being a leader, then they would have told you to take this test." Chryssie asked and patted his shoulder.
"I'd better go... good luck." she said and hurried off into the darkness.
"Nice try Chryssie. I know Munkustrap sent you to try to make me feel better." He said bitterly.
He then heard voices calling for him.
"Here we go, Alonzo." He told himself. He made his way to the very front of the site, where he saw Munkustrap standing tall and solemn.
He stepped before him.
"Alonzo. We have been watching you very carefully. We know you may turn out to be a fine leader. This moment starts your testing. In this test you must accomplish what a leader should.... fights, guarding, robbing, and during a Macavity scare.. These can happen at various points. We have cats watching you. Good luck Alonzo. All is dismissed." The Jellicles started their daily life activities.
Munkustrap called Chryssie and the Rum Tum Tugger over to him.
"I need you two to create a problem for me... some kind of fight. He needs to be able to solve it." He turned to Chryssie.
"Can you do this for me Chryssie?"
"Yeah. Come on Tugger, lets go think up something." He followed her to the outskirts of the site.
Alonzo sat on the trunk. Mungojerrie's voice boomed out.
"Well now Alonzo. You've got t' do a lot t' please Munk'strap." and he laughed.
"Fancy that. 'im a leada'!" Rumpleteaser joined and laughed.
Alonzo patiently said
"Guys, you may not have much faith in me, but I believe in myself. You can't change that, I'm afraid." Rumpleteaser stopped laughing.
"Oh no Alonzo, we weren't makin' fun of you. If we offended you it wasn't meant by anythin'."
"Yeah. Oh boy, 'e's pushy today ain't he?"
"Mungojerrie, 'e's stressed."
"Since when d' you not take sides with me?" Mungojerrie asked indignantly.
"Lets leave 'im alone." The two left.
Jennyanydots ran quickly out.
"Alonzo good. I need you to watch Etcetera and Electra for me. Jellylorum and I have to attend the others for a while. Could you please?"
"Yes Jennyanydots, I'll watch then for a while."
"Thank you so much!" She then called them. They came out meekly.
"Now mind Alonzo."
"OK Jennyanydots."
"We will." Jennyanydots ran off.
"Why are you two here? Why aren't you with the others?"
"We just got in the others' way."
"I see."
"No Tugger, you were wrong and you know it!"
"I didn't say anything!"
"Don't lie to me!"
"Come on, lets see what this is about shall we?" Alonzo asked.
"Electra.. come on!" Etcetera started dragging her friend towards the noise.
"No it's too loud!"
"Well come with us. I'll quiet them down."
"Promise?" Electra asked quizzically.
"Promise." Alonzo said sincerely and Electra got up and went with them.
They saw Chryssie and Tugger engaged in a battle very much like a court case.
"What's going on here?!" Alonzo yelled. That got their attention.
"Now what happened?" Alonzo asked in a quiet voice.
"Tugger just decided to take conclusions to himself." Chryssie said in an angered voice.
"But I KNOW I'm right!" Tugger insisted.
"What are you arguing about?"
"I think the Jellicle Balls should only happen during full moons, but Tugger says that they have happened before on crescents."
"They HAVE!!"
"Look, Jellicle moons are normally full on the nights of Jellicle balls."
"Told you so Tugger." Chryssie said.
"However there have been rumors saying that this years ball will fall on a quarter." Tugger gave her a snotty look as if to say
"I told you so."
"So you're even. Fair and square."
"OK thanks." Chryssie said grumpily and they went off.
Chryssie and Tugger found Munkustrap high on a perch on top of a woodpile, which made him invisible to Alonzo. Tugger and Chryssie approached.
"He did the argument fine."
"I saw. Good work you two." Tugger nodded and went away.
Chryssie turned and went a short way. Then she watched Mungojerrie and Rumpleteaser work.
Jennyanydots came in and said
"Alonzo? Someone has stolen Victoria's diamond collar."
"Are you sure? She might have misplaced it."
"No we've looked everywhere, though I bet Mungojerrie and Rumpleteaser had a hand in it."
"Thank you Jennyanydots. Where are Mungojerrie and Rumpleteaser?" They sauntered in as if that were their cue.
"Here are the culprits now." Jennyanydots said dryly.
"Thank you Jennyanydots. Say you two? Come over here." They came.
"What's the matta' Alonzo?" Rumpleteaser asked.
"Well Victoria's diamond collar is missing."
"Diamond!" Mungojerrie said, getting interested.
"Yes, it was reported missing and.... "
"You don't suppose WE took i' do you?" Mungojerrie said getting angry.
"No, no, no, I didn't say that."
"Yeah but you might 'ave been implyin' it!" He said. Rumpleteaser jabbed her brother in the ribs with her elbow.
"Go on Alonzo." She said.
"I was wondering if you might know where it was."
"What if we did?" Rumpleteaser asked getting playful.
"It would be nice to tell me so that we can get it back."
"What if we don't want to?" Rumpleteaser asked.
"Well I wouldn't think it was very nice for one thing. I mean, Victoria's owner is rich and he would be very angry with her if she lost her collar. So have you seen it?" Rumpleteaser paused.
"Nope! Sorry, can't 'elp you."
"My foot!" Jennyanydots said coming out. "You two are always stealing things."
"Jennyanydots. If they say they didn't do it, they didn't do it." Alonzo said quietly.
"But you know them!"
"Jennyanydots, give them the benefit of the doubt."
"It's all right! I found it. I misplaced it." Victoria called in sheepishly.
"See Jennyanydots! I told you we didn't take it! I thought you knew us better!" Mungojerrie said in a sniff.
Etcetera then tackled Alonzo and shrieked
"I want to play!"
Electra came up behind them. She was fairly high up and she jumped onto Etcetera.
"Me too!" She announced.
"OK girls, get up off me and we will." The two scrambled off.
Then Alonzo began to run faster and faster. Etcetera and Electra were right behind. They all seemed tireless, Electra and Etcetera barely touching him but then he speeded up and they had to hurry to catch up again.
Etcetera tired first and stopped a minute. She realized she was too long out of the game when Electra and Alonzo made another pass. She started again and soon was right beside Electra enjoying the chase.
Alonzo saw a large pile of junk ahead of him. He scaled and cleared it as did the girls.
Chryssie sighed as she watched them happily play almost letting herself wish for the thousandth time for her cat form back. She shook it out of her and concentrated on his testing.
So far so good.
She looked up at Munkustrap and noticed how tall and cold he looked.
"He has to be lonely." She told herself.
"And I know that this human form bothers him a bit."
She saw Demeter watching nearby.
"Maybe I can undo all I've done." She thought. Then she called,
"Demeter!"
"Yes Chryssie?" She said coming over.
"Do me a favor. Give Munkustrap a hug for me."
"But Chryssie, why not give him one yourself."
"I don't think he's comfortable with me like this. Go on now."
"But Chryssie.." "Go on!" Chryssie said smiling.
"But..."
"Go!"
"All right I get the message!" Demeter said laughing. She crawled up to Munkustrap and hugged him but then pointed down to Chryssie. He made a gesture to come up and join them, but Chryssie waved as if to say
"Get out of here." and went under.
"Soon the Macavity scare will start." Chryssie said to herself.
She was nervous for Alonzo did have the ability to be protective. He may hurt one of the Jellicles dressed as Agents.
She rounded a corner, froze, and backed away. She saw row after row of agents, henchcats of Macavity.
"We didn't have nearly so many!" Then Chryssie saw Macavity himself.
"Soon Demeter will be at my hands. Don't hesitate to hurt or kill anyone, just be sure that you kill the leader and the human girl. She can't hurt you. She's an easy target. Forward!"
Chryssie ran back and was about to warn everyone when she stopped, remembering that she couldn't for that would disqualify Alonzo. She then thought of something and ran to the corner where Alonzo and the girls passed by on their chase. Soon she saw a black and white streak whiz by. Then she got ready for the girls.
She reached out and grabbed them both as they came by. She then dragged them into the shadows.
"AH-"
"Shhh Etcetera! It's me, Chryssie!"
"What the heck is the matter with you?!" Electra whispered angrily.
"Listen, you know that there is a make believe Macavity scare coming up right?"
"Yeah..."
"It's the real thing. Macavity is here and he's after Demeter. I need you to be brave and warn Alonzo. It isn't against the rules for you to tell him anything, but it is for me. Please, Girls can you do this?"
"Well.." said Etcetera.
"You've saved us so many times, I think we can save Alonzo."
"Right if you can pull off so many things so can we!"
"Just don't take crazy risks like I do." Chryssie said seeing the bitter truth.
The risks she took WERE crazy, like going into Macavity's lair after Munkustrap, hundreds of guards everywhere and no one with her. Or diving head first down waterfalls with a vine that isn't reliable. She was a modern daredevil.
"Go now, quickly. Tell him to warn the others. I can't come out until he does so."
They stepped back out and ran as fast as they could towards Alonzo. They found him coming back.
"Good I thought I had gone to fast for you." He smiled but then stopped when he saw the fear in their eyes.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Macavity's here!" Etcetera whispered urgently.
"And he wants to kill Chryssie, and Munkustrap!" Electra joined in.
"And he's after Demeter! You need to warn everybody!" They said together.
"All right, stay in the center with me." He said and escorted them to the center. Then he called into the shadows.
"Come out everybody! Now! Macavity is really here! He's after Chryssie, Munkustrap and Demeter! Come out of the shadows!" No one moved.
"Munkustrap, what if he's serious?" Demeter whispered nervously.
"It could be apart of the testing... Chryssie!" Munkustrap gasped.
Chryssie had climbed out into the light, thankful that she could see again.
"No joke! He's here! Everybody out! NOW!" Chryssie then helped Jennyanydots and a few others come into the light.
"She's right! Macavity has to be here." Demeter said.
"Chryssie!" Munkustrap said then turned to Demeter.
"Come on, we have to get you out there." They all met in the center along with everyone.
"Chryssie! What's happening?" Mistoffelees called, with Asparagus and Tugger close at his heels.
"Macavity is here. He's going for Demeter again. You have to be extra careful, for the guards aim to hurt or kill."
"What about you?" Asparagus asked grabbing her arm between his paws and holding it.
"I'll be fine."
"Are you sure? You can't fight like we do." Tugger said worried.
"I'll be fine." She said and gave Asparagus's paw a gentle squeeze before she hurried to Munkustrap.
Asparagus and Alonzo went with her.
"Chryssie..."
"I know , I know, I let him know. But listen. He's after you and me to kill and Demeter to keep. Now we might want to put Demeter there, in that corner, and then have our defenses in front. That way, nothing can get through..."
"No! We need to keep them in the middle and surround them so that if they get through someone will be on the other side to stop them." Chryssie paused and looked at Alonzo proudly. Then she turned to Munkustrap and said
"He's right."
"Then that's what we'll do." He said and he took Demeter and Chryssie to the center.
"Alonzo, Mistoffelees and Tugger, come."
"Be careful Asparagus." She whispered to him and let him go. She then picked up two heavy wood-like clubs.
"Chryssie, I don't want you to fight... you'll get hurt. Remember you can't fight the way we do." Munkustrap said worriedly taking her arm.
"Well I need to do something." Chryssie said gently patting his paw.
"But Chryssie..."
"Let her fight Munkustrap. I don't think you can sway her other wise." Alonzo said, making Chryssie look over at him with a
"How did you know?" look in her eyes.
"Very well. Just... be careful." He said looking worriedly at her.
"I'll be fine." she said again.
"Here they come!!" Etcetera yelled.
Macavity expected to see the trainee and two kittens but when he saw the entire Jellicle clan, he growled angrily, but said coolly
"I see you were expecting us."
"We were warned." Chryssie said angrily, wishing she could growl.
"Ah, by a human?"
"Yes."
"Well then let's not keep you waiting for your death... ahh, Trainee. I see your testing was cut short." "
Good now get on with it!"
"As you wish. Attack!" The guards started swarming towards them. Both sides threw themselves headlong into battle. Everyone was trying to find the weak spot of the other tribe.
Alonzo was faced with a large guard but he fought with such expertise that Chryssie would be proud if she was able to watch. Alonzo knocked him off his feet and out. He saw Mungojerrie battle a hard fight and then checked on Rumpleteaser who was engaged with a guard much larger than herself.
She needed help and fast, yet he knew that Mungojerrie didn't like another tom helping Rumpleteaser.
"Mungojerrie, I'll take him, go help your sister!" He said and engaged Mungojerrie's guard in battle.
Mungojerrie dashed off and hurled the guard away from his sister.
"Teasa'! You all right?" He yelled.
"Mungojerrie look out!" She cried. He turned and ducked as a guard sailed over his head.
"I'm all right!" She yelled and stayed close to Mungojerrie as they fought.
Etcetera was engaged in battle with a small guard. She was struggling.
Electra came up from behind and tackled him.
"We did it!" Etcetera yelled as she realized the guard had lost consciousness.
"Yeah we should work together always!" Electra agreed and they slapped a high "paw". They then selected a target together.
Chryssie was engaged in a battle with a guard and was doing well. She hit him dead in the face with her club and let him fall unconscious. She then knocked down a guard who was heading straight towards Demeter, who in turn defended her.
Munkustrap and Alonzo made their way over.
Mistoffelees blasted anyone who came close.
Then Macavity appeared.
"Come on Trainee." He growled. Alonzo started forward.
"Alonzo, no. Let me." Munkustrap said. Alonzo backed off.
Chryssie said
"Watch them. Wait until you can jump in. You'll get your shot soon enough."
Macavity and Munkustrap began.
Alonzo followed behind.
Chryssie expected Macavity to try to come up from behind so she turned while Mistoffelees guarded her back. Her intuition was right for Macavity was forcing Munkustrap back towards Demeter. She then engaged him when Munkustrap was about to fall from exhaustion.
"You? Human? You think you can engage ME? You know, Chrychaesa I have the advantage."
"I'm stronger than you think Macavity." She said calmly and sent her club flying. He caught it with one paw. She sent her other club flying and he caught that in his other paw. She then kicked him hard and sent him flying back.
"Forgot I had those?" She asked innocently then called
"Alonzo! Take him!" Alonzo stepped in and engaged Macavity.
"Ahh now the Trainee."
"I am not a Trainee anymore."
"We shall see." Macavity said and viciously attacked. But Alonzo was ready for him. He counter attacked.
In all his years of fighting, only two cats had been known to worry Macavity when he fought them... Chryssie and Munkustrap. Now there were three, now including Alonzo. It seemed like every thing Macavity tried to trick him with, Alonzo was always on top of it.
Macavity began to tire, but Alonzo seemed as fresh as ever. Soon Macavity was so tired he felt like he could drop but Alonzo wouldn't let up.
"Retreat!" Macavity yelled. The soldiers all ran.
The Jellicles chased them to the edge of the site and then returned.
"Pouncival? Please run and check for casualties."
"Right away chief!" He said and took off.
"Oh Mungojerrie I am so glad you are all right!" Rumpleteaser cried.
"Oh yes I'm glad I'm all right too. Are you all right?" Mungojerrie joked. Rumpleteaser started to giggle continuously.
"It wasn't that funny. What are you giggling at?" Alonzo said, slightly teasing Mungojerrie and coming over to them.
"I 'ave Tugga's colla'." She giggled. Sure enough Alonzo heard Tugger roar
"Where's my collar?!"
"You might want to return it to him 'Teaser." Alonzo said starting towards Munkustrap.
"All right. You'll do it for me Mungojerrie."
"Do what?"
"Return Tugga's collar."
"No way! Then 'e'd think I did it. You do it!"
"And ruin my image?"
"What image and with who?"
"My image with Tugga'."
"You don't 'ave a crush on 'im do you?"
"Yes!"
"Along with most females!"
"Please?"
"No, 'Teasa' you do it!"
"I'll do it if you come with me."
"Fine now get movin'." Chryssie had watched this little argument from afar and she smiled at the two. Then she started to Munkustrap.
"Chryssie, Chryssie! Did you see it? We worked together! We brought down more guards than we have individually combined!" Electra and Etcetera said joyfully prancing around her.
"You should work together often. You two make the greatest team." Chryssie encouraged and the two ran off to play together.
Chryssie went to find Munkustrap and found him in his cave. But she also saw him tenderly kissing Demeter.
Chryssie backed silently away, trying not to disturb them.
She knew it was best and that Munkustrap couldn't love her in her human form. Maybe she could try to undo what she did years ago... stealing Munkustrap. Maybe she could return him to her.
She left the cave not saying a word only looking back with a small unhappy smile.
"Chryssie what's the matter?" Alonzo asked silently stepping behind her, making her gasp.
"Oh, Munkustrap can't love me like this. That's all."
"Why would you say that?" Mistoffelees asked, joining them with Tugger and Asparagus.
"He just doesn't seem comfortable with me like this. I think he's forgotten who I once was. He just let this human image blind him I guess. I can see that this form bothers most of you. The only thing that keeps me here is the fact that I once was Chryssie. But I'm not. I am a human girl by the name of Chrysta Chaseman now."
"No. You're Chryssie, the cat who gave all to save the soul of another." Alonzo said remembering that night that changed Chryssie.
"You still help us Chryssie." Tugger also said.
"Protect us and love us as if you weren't any different from us." Mistoffelees chimed in.
"We all care for you Chryssie. Where would we be without you?" Asparagus said quietly.
"You're right. Thanks guys."
Munkustrap came out of the cave and saw Chryssie surrounded by Alonzo, Asparagus, Mistoffelees and Tugger.
"What's going on here?" He asked. Demeter came up beside him.
"Chryssie thinks you don't love her because she's human." Alonzo quietly informed.
Munkustrap froze. He sat down by Chryssie and gently touched her shoulder.
"Chryssie? I didn't think we thought that much alike. I was afraid you didn't love me now because of our difference." He gently hugged her.
She then stood up and placed her hand on Alonzo's shoulder.
"I think he should pass and become our secondary leader. I may have slipped the girls something to warn him with, but he did handle himself well in a real situation, and he has completed all the objectives."
"I say so too." Mistoffelees said.
"I do too." Asparagus said.
"Ditto here." Tugger agreed.
Shouts and cries echoed from all the Jellicles as they all expressed their agreement.
"I agree too." Demeter said.
Chryssie looked at Munkustrap and said
"It's all up to you now."
"Alonzo. You have proven yourself worthy of being second in command. You are now secondary leader to this clan of Jellicles."
A cheer resounded through the camp.
Chryssie hugged Alonzo who whispered
"I thought that little pep talk was because Munkustrap made you."
"Alonzo, I know we haven't been the best of friends, but I did talk to you earnestly. I am very glad that you made it to leader status. We need a great leader like you."
"Uh sir?" Pouncival said uncertainly.
"Yes sir?"
"Casualty report."
"All right lets hear it."
"Mostly injured, none deceased."
Munkustrap and Chryssie sighed in relief together, then looked at each other in surprise.
"Mostly everybody has minor cuts and scratches. Cassandra says she has more broken nails then she knows what to do with." He said holding in a giggle.
"Kittens are fine."
"Good. Anything really serious?"
"Only Cassandra trying to find her claw glue gun." Chryssie rolled her eyes good-humouredly.
"Thank you."
The cats then heard glass break and Etcetera's indignant shouting.
"Smooth move Electra! You broke it!"
"Did not! You sent me flying into it, so it's your fault!"
"Well why did you try to jump me in the first place?"
"I wanted to play!"

"What 'appened t' it??" Mungojerrie's voice roared.
"It was Electra's fault!"
"Etcetera's!"

"Etcetera's!" The whole place became a tangled bit of screaming.
Chryssie looked from one of her friend's face to another and they all shook their heads.
"Welcome to command." Chryssie said sighing.
"Oh joy." Alonzo grinned.
"It Was Electra!"
"Quiet!"
"It was Etcetera!"
"Stop screamin' Mungojerrie!"
"Electra!"
"I'm not!"
"Etcetera!"
"Yes, Yo makin' it worse!"

"Yo louda' than they are!"
