Jeff Timmons is the founding member of 98°. While studying Psychology at Kent State University, he decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment. Although he received several acting jobs (including a commercial for the U.S. Navy!), his heart belonged to music and he formed a singing group. Time passed and several members came and went, but everything started to fall in place when a mutual friend introduced him to Nick. Shortly after, Justin and Drew joined the lineup and 98° was born.

Jeff's 'Why Me?s'

Onstage...

"There are so many; it's a daily occurrence with me. We were in Toronto, and there was a girl in the audience whom I was looking at and trying to sing to, and be cool and stuff, and I was backing up. I backed up over one of the wedges the guitar player had on the floor, and I fell and landed headfirst on the stage. My microphone flew out into the audience, and my headphones came off. It was a disaster! I thought I would have heard dead silence from the audience, but I heard roaring laughter. Nobody cared about my health... They just laughed! Another time, we were doing this thing for the NFL and United Way, and Jerry Rice was there, and we were all on risers. I was standing on one that was one height and he was on one a couple feet behind me. I turned around and stuck my hand out andn said 'Hey, Jerry, what's up!' and stepped to the right and there was no riser there. I fell off the stage and everyone started laughing. That was my most embarrassing moment ever, probably."
