Jon Favreau was born on October 19, 1966 in Queens, New
York. He attended some college at Queens College, and left to pursue a career in comedy. He studied
improvisational
comedy with Del Close & was a member of the ImprovOlympic troupe in Chicago. In a recent chat at
www.asylum.com I got to ask him how he felt improv has affected his acting
career and he said that he considers it an "invaluable tool" because it
helped him "get used to not knowing what will
happen next."

about jon...
Favreau seemed destined to a career of bit-parts such as "Assistant" in
Batman Forever
until writing and starring in the surprise hit Swingers.
Since
then he's had a lengthy role in
Friends as a Bill Gates-type figure (only slightly wider,
obviously) who fell in love with
Courtney Cox. He's also appeared in action thriller Persons
Unknown, high-school
reunion number Dogtown and the currently in post-production
Very
Bad Things, with
Christian Slater and Cameron Diaz. In Deep Impact he plays
Gus
Partenza, the medical
officer on the space shuttle. He's also written the screenplay for
Leatherheads, a film
about the early days of professional American football - back
before the full-face
crash-helmets and spacesuits.
