Mina has the most open personality of the senshi. She makes friends very easily. She is always very concerned over anyone's well-being. She doesn't have any enemies, except the Negaverse, of course! Mina and Serena are very much alike. They both are lazy, get bad grades, and are kind of ditzy! Theey both come from middle-class families, and they both have cats. Lita is her best friend.
Mina began to fight for love and justice as Sailor V of England. Her story began in the seventh grade. She was a carefree, boy-chasing teenager when she saw the little white cat with the crescent moon on its forehead. The cat, Artemis, recognized Mina as Sailor Venus. He gave her a transformation pen and began her training way before Luna met Serena. Sailor V became an idol all over the world. She got her own video games and her own movie. Serena even idolized her, wishing she could be just like Sailor V. Mina's previous experience gives her more self-confidence, but she can often be the silliest of the senshi.
There was an episode about Mina's past that was cut in the NA version. In London, Mina was in love with an older man named Alan. They were best friends; always together.
One day, while rescuing a small child, she met a policewoman named Katrina. They became fast friends, and Mina introduced Katrina to Alan. The three of them spent all their time together. One day, Sailor V got caught in an explosion. Alan and Katrina thought she was dead, but in reality she had escaped. She overheard them talking and learned the truth: Alan and Katrina were in love. Mina silently left them alone.
One day Sailor Venus was attacked by a monster (big surprise). The other senshi came to help, and in the process, the monster dropped something. Sailor Venus picked it up and saw that it was the pendant that she had given Katrina for her birthday! She begged Sailor Moon to heal the monster and not destroy her. Sailor Moon said that she had stolen Mina's boyfriend, but Mina said that Alan and Katrina were in love, and they needed each other. Sailor Moon healed Katrina and all was well.
Sailor Moon might never have been created if it wasn't for Sailor V. The creator of Sailor Moon first released Sailor V, but it wasn't a big sucess. Sailor Moon was then created and Sailor V was used as Sailor Moon's idol. She was then put in as Sailor Venus.
