News and Updates

July 4, 2005:

Deleted non-functional links, updated list of credits. I have tons of screen captures to add to the site, but really have no time right now to do that, so it's still "on-hold." Sorry Matt - I love ya, but "real life" has taken over my net life! Hope I get some time to really update this site in the near future.

March 16, 2001:

Sorry for the lack of updates, things have been really tight for me these past few months. Here's the good news: You can now send Matthew Fan Mail! Check the Biography section for his mailing address. I'd like to thank Matt's sister for sending it in!

Unfortunately, there is some bad news, too: "Attraction" will no longer be seen in theaters. It goes direct-to-video later this year. It was initially scheduled for an April 24th video release, but it was pushed back. The exact release date is still TBA.

The new GeoCities Guestbooks are a drag! They chop off longer messages. So please, if you have any important updates or long stories to tell, send them to me by e-mail or post them on the discussion forum at the NEW Matthew Settle Yahoo! Fan Club. This Fan Club replaces the old "Message Board" link, since that Message Board was deleted by its host server. It also improves on the concept, since we now have an exclusive chat room! Be sure to check it out.

By the way, Matthew's most recent theatrical release, "The In Crowd", is due for VHS release on March 27, 2001. It has been out on DVD for a couple of months already. Its list price is only $14.95... and you can find it at even lower prices than that! So buy or rent a copy at the end of the month, okay?

Be sure to check back in a few weeks... I'll be opening a new gallery section with images from Matt's various TV movie appearances. Yes, everything from "Murder In Mind" to "The Alex Kelly Story." All these captures were sent in by various guests to this site, and I will thank them when the galleries open. You really can't believe how kind people can be on the internet!

Till next time...

October 23, 2000:

"U-571" will be released on VHS and DVD tomorrow. I received an advanced copy of the disc, and have done 12 captures from almost every scene Matt was in. Check out the new U-571 Gallery today!

I also received quite a number of e-mails from people who noticed that one of the pictures in my "The In Crowd" Gallery was actually not of Matt, but of Ethan Erickson! I apologize for that... it was difficult figuring out who was who on the online trailer I downloaded. I've since replaced it with a new picture of Matthew from the film.

On the news front, "Stalk" a.k.a. "Rules of Attraction" has undergone another title change, and is now known simply as "Attraction". It debuted last month at the Toronto International Film Festival, and from early reports, it's quite a steamy film. It will hit theaters across North America in February of next year. Watch out for it!

That's it for now. Come back again soon!

August 10, 2000:

I added a link to the transcript of Matt's chat last July 10th at Lycos. Go to the links section for the URL. Interesting stuff... it looks like "Stalk" a.k.a. "Rules of Attraction" is one film many of this site's visitors will be rushing to see! ;)

July 10, 2000:

This just in: Chat with Matthew LIVE online tonight at Lycos, 10PM ET/7PM PT. I feel awful, since I have to work tonight, so I can't make it. Tell him I said "Hi," okay? Click here to go to the chat. You'll need to register first, but it really isn't much of a hassle.

June 15, 2000:

NEWS: Matthew's most recent film, "U-571", opened in theaters on April 21st at the #1 position, making it his biggest hit to date. He has a small but significant role. Catch it in theaters now.

UPCOMING: Matt has a significantly larger role in the young-adult oriented thriller "The In Crowd", which hits theaters across North America on July 19th, pushed to summer from its original late spring release.

Matt's other upcoming film, "Stalk", has undergone a title change. The film, which co-stars Gretchen Mol and Tom Everett Scott, is now known as "Rules of Attraction". Its tentative release date is February, 2001.

IN PRODUCTION: Matthew is currently in London filming the HBO mini-series "Band of Brothers". This 10 hour war drama is being produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, and is based on the book by Stephen Ambrose. Matt's co-stars include David Schwimmer, Donnie Wahlberg, James Madio and Ron Livingston. For more information, check out this site's guestbook for an entry by Matt's friend Russell, who's currently with Matthew in London. Also check out the DreamWorks SKG Fansite for "Band of Brothers" for updates and pictures from the set.

SITE UPDATES: I've just added two new fun and interactive features to this site. First, you can now send free Matthew Settle Postcards to your friends from this site! I've selected 8 different cards which you can set to music... something for every occasion!

Secondly, this site now has its own Message Forum, where you can discuss Matthew's latest projects with other visitors to the web site. No registration/e-mail address required. Remember: BE NICE and respect other people's opinions, okay?

That's it for now. I hope to have some new pictures for you soon. Till next time!

February 6, 2000:

I just added 4 new captures of Matthew from "The In Crowd" to that film's gallery page! Also, check out the link to the teaser trailer of "The In Crowd".

January 24, 2000:

Not much new to report. I have added a list of Matthew's theater credits to the site. Of note, the official web site of "The In Crowd" is now operational! Learn more about the film and its cast by following the hyperlink. The web site for "U-571", Matt's other film due this spring, is currently under construction. Click here to visit it.

December 29, 1999:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, everyone! After a year of only two TV-movie appearances by Matthew, it looks like we get our fill of him on the big screen rather early in 2000! "The In Crowd" is scheduled for a Spring release, and "U-571" is due on April 21, 2000. Check out four new images from "The In Crowd" in a brand-new gallery page, courtesy of Morgan Creek Productions! Be sure to click on the link to that film's official site; it currently has a very intriguing "teaser" trailer (Shockwave Flash required).

What's next for Matthew? Well, according to a friend who signed the guestbook, Matthew's currently shooting "Stalk" for Trimark Pictures, opposite Samantha Mathis, Gretchen Mol and Tom Everett Scott. Looks like a very busy Millennium for Matt!

November 14, 1999:

This site is turning 1 next week! In celebration of that event, I have updated the "I Still Know" capture gallery, removing all old caps and replacing them with bigger, clearer ones. Now you have 30 new crystal-clear images of Matthew to peruse! Until next time!

October 12, 1999:

Not much to report. After "U-571", Matthew started work on "The In Crowd", directed by Mary Lambert (director of Pet Sematary and numerous Madonna videos). Both films are set to hit the big screen next year. I also added a link to the Matthew Settle Yahoo! Discussion Group.

Remember, this site now has an easy-to-remember URL: http://geocities.datacellar.net/matthewsettle. In you use NetWords, it's even easier: this site is "Matthew Settle". Hope to have more news for you soon!

June 24, 1999:

Good news, people! The blurry pictures from "I Still Know..." are gone. I've replaced them with a new set of 15 captures from the DVD! I've also added a few of Matthew's publicity photos that have previously appeared on the net at Hollywood Online. PLUS - making their online debut: 25 never-before-seen captures of Matthew from "Justice League of America," and 15 brand new captures from "Lansky", exclusively for this site (Thanks, Dewey!)! How's that for an update? :)

February 27, 1999:

The site's been found by Matthew, his family and his friends! Gee, I hope one of them would e-mail me so I could ask them more about Matthew! And maybe he can allow this site to be if not an "official" site, then at least one that's "officially recognized" by him.

Anyway, I've incorporated the data they gave in their guestbook entries into the biography and credits sections of the site. I've added a link to a site called "Hot Male Celebrities," which has some hot captures of Matthew from the film "Murder in Mind." I have a few new pictures of Matthew, but not enough to open a new page in the gallery. I should have enough for that in my next update. Watch for Matthew in HBO's "Lansky" on February 27th, 8PM EST, and in CBS' "The Alex Kelly Story" on March 23rd, 9PM EST.

For Matthew's fans in the Far East, where "I Still Know..." opened early this year, don't despair! Throughout March, you can catch Matthew in "Justice League of America", which is airing on HBO Asia. Here are the air dates (all in HKT): March 3, 9:00PM; March 9, 5:15PM; March 13, 12:40AM; March 25, 11:55PM; and March 28, 1PM. Matthew plays Guy Gardner/The Green Lantern in this TV-movie, which has been described as "F*R*I*E*N*D*S meets the DC Superheroes."

November 25, 1998:

Well, this site was born today! I decided to create it for one reason: I just watched "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer" and I think I finally found a star that I would enjoy creating a web site for.

Watch this page for news on Matthew's career and for any  updates done on this web site. Thanks for stopping by, please sign my guestbook, and I hope you come back again soon.

P.S. - If you happen to be Matthew, then please drop me an e-mail and make my day, okay? ;)
