Pinocchio

"Pinnocchio" was written by Italian Carlo Collodi. He was a much naughtier character than most of us might remember. The "talking cricket" was smashed with a hammer early on in the story. When he goes to the Land of the Boobies with other boys he does not escape their fate but is also completely changed into a donkey. He is sold to a tyrrhanical circus master, is made to perform until he goes lame and is then sold to a man who intends to slaughter him so that his skin may be made into a drum. With a rope around his neck attached to a heavy stone, Pinnochio is thrown into the water to be drowned. An altogether naughty boy puppet.
