Reynold Brown

The Shrike, 1955

Here are beautiful portraits of Both Jose Ferrer as the theatre director driven mad by his scheming wife, June Allyson. The skill of an actor to display emotion is demonstrated by Brown in the slightly disturbed look of Ferrer, the somewhat scheming jealous glance of Allyson.  Brown ties the poster together by using the background color as the portrait shadow color. Note blue gray highlights in shadow areas to help define Ferrer's neck, Allyson's cheek.
