Besides his illustration work Reynold Brown did many fine art drawings and paintings. He was always interested in the representational presentation that is less abstract work. Although he did a few of these while doing his illustration work, and occasionally doing a fine piece based on the movies, most of his fine arts pieces were done after he quit doing movie work. He did many of these for the western arts market from 1970 to 1976. After a difficult and incomplete recovery from a severe stroke in 1976, Brown would continue to paint and draw, although in a very different style.
