The Board
of Directors of the Political Film Society held a meeting
at the time, on the day and at the place set forth hereinbelow,
pursuant to Rule 12 of the Rules of Procedure:
TIME: 3:07 p.m.
DATE: February 1, 2003
PLACE: 1215 ½ Seal Way, Seal Beach.
Present at said meeting were the following persons:

Michael Haas, Chair & Treasurer of the Board of Directors,
Member of the Political Film Society, and Chief Executive
Officer of the Political Film Society
· Joseph Ribal, Secretary of the Board of Directors and Member
of the Political Film Society
The following named persons served as Chair and Secretary
of the meeting:
· Chair: Michael Haas
· Secretary: Joseph Ribal.
The first order of business was to approve the Minutes of
the meeting of the Board of Directors held on March 2, 2002.
The motion carried.
The second order of business was the Membership Report.
Secretary Joseph Ribal presented a list of 226 members, including
127 active and 99 inactive members, as of February 2, 2002.
Several new members joined during the past year. The list
of members is appended to these Minutes.
The third order of business was to determine the top nominees
of the annual awards for best political films from among
the films pre-nominated throughout 2002. Ballots, which are
attached to these Minutes, determined the following results:
DEMOCRACY:
Das Experiment, The Town Is Quiet, and Y
Tu Mamá También.
EXPOSÉ: Antwone Fisher, Ararat, Enigma, Kandahar,
and Y Tu Mamá También
HUMAN RIGHTS: Ararat, Das Experiment, The Grey Zone,
John Q, and To End All Wars
PEACE: K-19: The Widowmaker, The Quiet American, and To
End All Wars.
After a recess in deliberations, a motion to accept the
nominations and to place nominated films before Political
Film Society members to select the best films in all four
categories for 2002 was made and carried.
There being no further business to come before the meeting,
upon motion duly made and unanimously carried, the meeting
was adjourned at 4:47 p.m.
