The Tombstone
In the past year, I've had many personal problems and things that have interfered with my running of this site, almost driving me off the net for good. I've had personality changes, changes in my schedules, changes in my family, changes in address, changes in my love life, and not that any of you care about any of that, but the point is that through it all, through all the personal shit, through the whole fucking mess, the World Wrestling Federation stayed there, every Monday night (and starting in August of last year, every Thursday too!) So I guess I should cover why I decided to come back to doing this whole website thing, what I think over some of the events of the past year in wrestling, etc.
Let's start with why I came back, BECAUSE I CAN! You know, when I started browsing the web again a couple months ago, I came to a startling relization, the web sites out there, the wrestling ones anyway, are quite frankly, SHIT! Full of ads or get money fast bullshit, or a newsboard with stuff that I wouldn't wipe my ass with if it was in print on paper. My goal in coming back to this site is not to provide the "best" site on wrestling that's out there, just to be a part of the solution, not the problem. To hopefully maintain a bullshit free, straight-forward, GOOD site. And you know what? If that sounds cocky, assholish, or anything like that, that's really too damn bad. Because one thing I will never ever do again is ask for your acceptance or pretend to give a shit what people think, or to cater to the general wrestling fan out there. Quite frankly, I don't give a shit if you visit my site or not. Sure, I'd love more hits, but I'm not going to go to extra lengths to get them. If you want more pictures of someone, you want more Rock stuff, you want more Austin stuff, you want more what-the-fuck-ever, GO FIND IT! I don't give a shit! I'm going to make this site something that I can be proud of! Something that when I tell someone "yeah I've got a website", I'm not ashamed to give them the URL. And by god, I will do things my way on this site, and if you don't appreciate that, if that makes me an asshole or a prick, then I am proud to be just that!
I don't know exactly what to say about wrestling. It's been a year and so much shit has happened that there's no way I'll get it all covered. Lots of new guys, lots of new angles, just a lot of new shit period. I mean, I still love Kane, Undertaker, and the Rock, but now there's Triple H, Tazz, Chris Jericho, etc. who have either come into their own or entered the WWF in the last year. I guess I'll start with someone who a little over a year ago I thought sucked, and is now one of my favorites, Triple H. "The Game", he's just awesome now. As the DX leader he was alright, but never really impressive on the mic. I love this whole "I'm an asshole so deal with it" thing he has going on. You gotta appreciate a guy like that.
The Undertaker...ummm...I don't know...the biker thing is cool, and I love Kid Rock, but the thing is, I miss the UNDERTAKER, this is kind of a DOA/Diesel type gimmick if you ask me. I guess being an Undertaker fan for so long, I'm glad to have him back but I wish he was still the Lord of Darkness, the Phenom, etc.
All of the newcomers to the WWF, Benoit, Jericho, Tazz, Guerro, Malenko, Saturn, Angle, all of them (except maybe Saturn) are extremely entertaining, and I really like Jericho and Tazz. This new blood in the WWF is really making things even more exciting.
WCW....umm...reinvented or whatever, sucks even more ass than it did before. A freaking movie actor as world champion....oh god, I can't even talk about WCW, it makes me sick. ECW on the other hand, is getting screwed lately. Whether it's Tazz, or Mike Awesom, or Lance Storm, all of their main event players are leaving the company. Don't count ECW out though...as far as I'm concerned they're the #2 Wrestling Organization.
I guess I'm done for now, I promise the next column won't suck as bad!
