Am I the only one who finds it really ironic that Steven Richards, a guy who's supposed to be standing up for morality, is managing a team named Kronik, an obvious drug reference?
Speaking of which, I thought the days of enhancement matches were over? Well what's with Kaientai vs. Kronik on Smackdown?
They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, with that being said, I feel extremely flattered.
I'm really into these last couple weeks of Tough Enough! I remember when they first started talking about doing this show; I was thinking, "Oh god, this is going to suck". Then the season premiere was really interesting, and from there I've just gotten really into that show. I can't wait to see who wins. Personally, I'm pulling for Taylor and Maven. Oh, and I really dislike Chris.
Jim Ross has said that the Alliance split may not happen until after Wrestlemania. I find that really interesting, because I have no idea how they will prolong this angle for that long, nor do I have any idea how they would explain things like Alliance wrestlers competing in the Royal Rumble, which I'm sure they would. If it really is prolonged for that long, it should be really interesting. Although personally I wish they'd just turn Excess into another show like RIW and Smackdown, and forget this split stuff, leave it as just WWF. Oh well, I can dream.
Please, please, break the Undertaker and Kane apart! Don't have them fight each other, just split them, and let Kane do his thing, and send the Undertaker on to retirement land. The more I see of his influence on McMahon showing on television the more I want him to retire. And he called in to Excess a couple weeks ago and actually bitched on live television about his lack of World Title shots! PLEASE! If they put the Undertaker back in the main event picture again, televisions would change channels across the nation so fast it'd make his big fat head spin. 'Taker, you were in the World Title chase all of April and May earlier this year, and the ratings SUCKED. I'm all for one more QUICK title reign out of respect for what the Undertaker has done for the last ten years, but after that, please 'Taker, retire, save yourself any more embarrassment. Hopefully Kronik take the belts from the Undertaker and Kane on Sunday at Unforgiven and we can finally see Kane move on without the Undertaker dragging him down.
Stone Cold Steve Austin is so funny! What?
Rob Van Dam is really tame compared to his ECW days, yet the fans love him. It's incredible. I love it, it shows that maybe even in this day of short matches and "sports entertainment" the casual fans still respect hard work to a certain degree.
I find it really funny that reports are saying that Torrie Wilson was trying to get close to Stone Cold Steve Austin, but Debra told her to back off, and then Austin was yelling at Torrie on Smackdown! Coincidence? I kind of doubt it.
Unforgiven is this Sunday, and I think it seems like it's going to be a hell of a show, so let's take a quick look at each match:
First we've got a four way tag team title match with the defending champions, the Dudley Boyz, facing the Hardy Boyz, Lance Storm & The Hurricane, and Spike & Big Slow. I hope the Dudleys will win this, they have the potential to be the best heel team ever, and I hope that they are on their way to that.
For the United States Championship it's Rhyno vs. Tajiri. Could be a really good match, I really am looking forward to this. It could also be a big time singles title for Rhyno, if the US title is given some credibility, as right now it's rather worthless after sitting on Kaynon's shoulder and not being defended for so long. I'm not sure who I want to win this match, but I'm almost positive that Rhyno will win.
The WCW tag team titles will be decided with Kane and the Undertaker defending against Kronik. I see Kane and Brian Clark carrying this match, as Brian Adams and Undertaker aren't going to be capable of doing much. I love Kane, I used to love 'Taker, but I hope, as I stated earlier, that Kane and 'Taker drop the belts to Kronik so that Kane and the Undertaker can go their separate ways and Kane won't be stuck with the Undertaker dragging him down any longer.
For the HardCore championship, Rob Van Dam will defend against Chris Jericho. Should be a really good match, as almost all of RVD's are. But, I'm not sure how many big spots Chris Jericho will do as compared to what we've seen with RVD and Jeff Hardy. It'll be good, just maybe not as spot filled. I hope that RVD comes out on top, as he's doing a lot of good for the HardCore title. I see Stephanie helping RVD retain.
For the Intercontinental Title it'll be Edge defending the belt against Christian. Oh wow, this has been given such great buildup. I'm really looking forward to this one, we're never really seen these two work against each other. It should be a really good match. However, I really don't see Christian as the Intercontinental Champion, or for sure not yet. Probably a rematch at No Mercy next month, so I see Edge winning this one.
In a handicap match for the WCW title, Booker T and Shane McMahon will face the Rock. Uggh, the Rock will win. If the Rock doesn't win, I will be really shocked. I hope Booker T wins though. And if Shane McMahon becomes WCW Champion I will lose all faith in the WWF writing team.
And saving the best for last, Stone Cold Steve Austin defends the WWF title against Kurt Angle in Angle's hometown of Pittsburgh. I figure there'll probably be a last minute no-DQ stipulation or something along those lines added to this match, but one way or another it's going to be a classic. I'm not sure who I want to win this match or who I think will win this one. It could definitely go either way. On one hand, I think Angle has a really solid chance of winning because he's so over as a face right now, because it's in his hometown, and because he's so pro-USA and with the terrorist attacks that happened recently, that may be what people are wanting to see, a pro-USA guy as WWF champion. On the other hand, Austin is also incredibly over, but as a heel. He's the leader of the Alliance, and what happens to that role if he loses the WWF title? Also, popular opinion would lead us all to believe that both the Rock and Austin would win their respective matches so they could face off down the line for both belts. I could see Kurt Angle possibly winning the belt though, and holding it until No Mercy, dropping it back to Austin then, and still leaving Austin able to fight the Rock as WWF champion. We'll see. That'd be the third month in a row Austin and Angle would face on PPV, but the feud is still really really hot, so who knows?
Okay, I'm done for now, so until next time...
