You know, I'm a lot of things, but unbiased is not one of them. I used to try and be unbiased when I started my website back in late 1996, but that never worked out very well at all. And as you can see now, I only keep galleries of my favorite stars, whether they are heel or face or what. I also used to try and be unbiased when it came to the WWF and the WCW. Hell, I still try to be sometimes. But I have come to notice that no matter what, the WCW just repulses me. Even if they put on a decent show, I think to myself how much better it could have been if McMahon and his people had booked it.
Well, I got the newest issue of WWF Magazine a few days ago, and in several sections in that magazine, there is mention to the fact that a while back on Monday Nitro, Tony Shivone was trying to make himself a big shot by telling everyone that RIW was taped that week, and that the "main event" between the Undertaker and Steve Austin would only last 10 seconds. And while I thought a lot about those comments back when it happened, I never organized it into a column.
Anyway, trying to be unbiased, I look at this thing, and I wonder to myself what the "hardcore" WCW fan thought of those comments. And hell, I just can't imagine having that much of a warped view of things. But I do know that I absolutely love it when someone on RIW takes a shot at the WCW. Opperation DX, I laughed so hard at that, and at the Corrnette commentaries a few months ago, one of which he said "Hulk Hogan, you are a household name, but so is garbage, and it stinks when it gets old." So anyway, I suppose all is fair in this war between the two companies, and the WWF has done some pretty damn outrageous stuff toward the WCW on it's shows. BUT, how bad would Bitchoff mess his pants up if Jim Ross came out on RIW and said "Hey everybody, you know that Goldberg/whoever match on Nitro tonight? I guarentee it will only last 30 seconds and will end with a JackHammer."
Like I said, I am not unbiased, I can't stand much, if anything about the Turner company, but I honestly don't give a flying f*** if RIW is taped, live, memorex, or whatever else. I enjoy it every week and that's what matters to me. Besides, reading a text summary of the event on the internet IS NOT the same as seeing it with your own eyes.
In the interest of being as unbiased as I can be, I will tell you the only things I can stand about the WCW/nWo, and that is the Nitro Girls, and Ric Flair. Now I don't hate everyone else, but those are the only things I'd miss any of RIW to watch. Now, let's break that down shall we? The Nitro Girls, now, this is going to sound pretty sexist, but I'll say it anyway. ANYONE, and I mean ANYONE, can go out and find a dozen big breasted women to come out there and shake their asses in as little clothing as possible. All you have to do is cruise the streets of any downtown across America. But being a male, I do watch the Nitro Girls when they are on, which only accounts for 5 minutes of a 3 hour show anyway. Ric Flair on the other hand, he is a ledgend, and a guy that I have infinite respect for. I was actually hoping he'd find some way to get the hell out of WCW during that whole lawsuit thing, and into the WWF. That obviously didn't happen though. Man, I tell you what though, when he told Bitchoff to "SUCK IT" a couple weeks ago, I could just see him walking down that WWF aisle, styling and profiling while giving a crotch chop!
A point I was glad to see finally brought to public attention in the WWF Magazine, is that the WCW is having matches that the WWF had 10 years ago. The way I see it, the WCW right now is almost a carbon copy of the WWF in the 80's or early 90's. You've got Hulk Hogan fighting the Ultimate Warrior! I mean give me a damn break! They even put in their damn promos "a rematch 8 years in the making"! Yeah, it would have been a rematch 8 years in the making, if these two guys were both in the company that MADE them main events, but all this match is, is Bitchoff and Turner trying their damndest to make more money off of Vince McMahon's ideas. Hey, if I had the money, I could go out there, hire some already made stars, and throw them in matches they've already had. If I want to see Hogan vs. Warrior, I'll go rent Wrestlemania 6, thank you very much.
That's it for this round....until next time....Rest In Peace! Or BURN IN HELL! Take your pick!
