The Tombstone

The Tombstone

Well, I never thought I'd have the need to write a Tombstone that explored religious values, but thanks to the events of last Monday's RAW, here I am.

Now, I assume most people, whether Christian or not, whether religoius or not, are familiar with the fact that the whole Christian Religion revolves around the crucifixtion of Jesus. Now, don't even mistake me for one second, because I am a Christian, not saying I'm the greatest one out there, but I am one, and the whole Undertaker/Austin thing did make me a bit uncomfortable. But I got to thinking about it. Didn't they crucify Jesus because that was the standard punishment of the times? Wouldn't that be the equivelent of death by lethal injection today? I think it would be.

Religion is something that everyone has their own views on, and I'm sure many people were completely disgusted by the angle at the close of last weeks RAW IS WAR. As far as my view goes, I wish they would have found some other way to do it, but if they were looking for a way to put the Undertaker over as some sort of satanic figure, that was a good and quick way to get it done. And you know what? At least it wasn't a true cross, it was the Undertaker symbol.

Of course, I could probably justify anything that the Undertaker or Kane for that matter did, considering, well just look at the title of my column or the logo and I think you can figure out that I am a Taker and Kane fan...in a major way.

Do I think that the crucifixtion angle was pushing the line of decency? Sure I do. Do I think it's just cause to go write hate mail to the WWF or to watch another program instead of RIW? Why, OH HELL NO! The 'bottom line' is that Vince has done it again, he's got the whole damn world talking about his program, whether it's in a good way or a bad way, he's got your attention, and you can't help but watch to see what he's going to do next.

That's it for this round....until next time....Rest In Peace! Or BURN IN HELL! Take your pick!
