I want to address what I'm sure will be common questions right here before anybody emails me asking.
When I found your site on this search engine, it said you are one of the longest running wrestling sites on the internet, what does that mean?
I started this site in December of 1996. When I started this web page, I knew nothing of HTML or web page design, but my site was one of a very few WWF or pro-wrestling related sites out there, so it developed a following. By March of 1997, I had somewhat figured out what I was doing, and now things are as you see them today. All the tag line on those search engine results means is that I consider myself to be a pioneer almost, just in fact that I was here before most, if not all of the popular wrestling websites you see today.
What happened to the 3:16 Report Newsletter you used to help run?
We shut it down in mid-2002 due to lack of interest from our readers and lack of time for myself and the other people on staff. I have no intentions on ever starting it back up, even though the thought sounds fun sometimes. The fact is, the day of the wrestling newsletter has passed. Sites like 1wrestling and Lords of Pain blow that out of the water.
Will you email me pictures/files/whatever?
Hell no. I don't have the time or the desire to do any such thing.
Will you make me a banner/logo/whatever?
Nope. I don't have the time to even if I had the desire to.
Will you help me or give me advice on my own website?
No. I don't have the time or the patience and I probably don't even have the right kind of knowledge.
What the hell is your problem? I can't believe you said/did/didn't/whatever (insert comment here)
Most this is something that tends to come from the column I write, but every now and again I'll piss somebody off when they don't hear what they want from me in an email. Fact is, I'm a pretty blunt person. If you're a retard, I'm going to tell you that you're a retard. As far as my opinions, they are just that, opinions, and not everyone is going to agree with me. Hey, I don't have a problem with that really. The world needs the screaming Rocky fans just as much as they need the "smart" fans who cheer Jericho or whoever. The problem to me is when an ignorant fan emails me upset because I don't like their favorite wrestler. Eat me. I'll like who I want to like, and dislike who I want to like, just as you will. That being said, I encourage people to email me with their thoughts, I just don't want to read "your a fag rocky rules". Well thought out, intelligent, decent emails that don't throw insults at me don't bother me in the least.
Are you Kane? Do you work for the WWE? Can you get me the Rock's autograph? etc.
Stop laughing and go change underwear. I really get emails like that. I swear, at least a couple times a week at its peak it seemed, I got an email "hey Kane, when will you win the title" or "i want the rocks autograph" etc. Maybe it was the email address that threw these people off, maybe it's the fact that I try to make this site look halfway professional, or maybe it's just the brain cell loss from drinking Draino, but these people are truly convinced of such things. I actually got a series of emails from some girl that concluded with "hey big red asshole, why dont you ever return emails?" *Sigh*...and I used to have faith in public education. Anyway, just to set the record straight, I AM NOT Kane, I DO NOT work for the WWE, this site IS NOT affiliated with the WWE in any sort of way, I DO NOT have WWE contacts, and last but certainitly not least I DO like girls.
I downloaded one of your wallpapers, but it looks funny on my desktop, how do I make it look right?
Chances are if it looks odd on your desktop, that your screen settings are bigger than 800x600, which is what I make the wallpapers at since that's the most common setting. If yours is not 800x600, you can go into your control pannel, and under display, choose the background option, and choose stretch off on the right side of the options to make the image cover the whole desktop.
Where did you go when you didn't update your site from April 2002 until August 2003?
Basically I just got tired of doing it. That's happened before, but never for so long. It was a combination of the summer hitting and me working more and stuff, and the fact that with the WWF changing to WWE and the damn titles kept getting unified and then un-unified, the roster split, etc., I just didn't feel like trying to keep up with it all on my site. Don't get me wrong, my interest in the WWE never wained at all, I just didn't feel like messing with the site. Hell, it took me over a month to get this site back up when I decided to do it, and I really didn't do that much, it's just a matter of motivation. Plus, I had actually tired to restart a few months earlier, but couldn't get a hold of my password to edit the site. In any event, I've tried to scale down everything a good bit and make things more simple so that I won't face the problem of not wanting to fuck with updating anymore. No promises though, life happens and you just never know what the next day holds, hopefully you all realize that. Matter of fact, updating this site is my last priority in life, so realize that too before you get irritated if I haven't updated.
Can I write for your site?
Possibly. Email me a sample column and I'll go from there. Please note that I do look for halfway professional writing though.
What program(s) do you use to make your wallpapers and logos and banners and such?
Paint Shop Pro 5, and Eye Candy. You can get demos of both at Download.com.
I hope the covered everything I needed to, if you don't fall into one of those catagories, feel free to Email Me.
