Ele stood in front of the wall of games, completely pissed off. First of all, she'd been forced to go in K-Mart, a place she'd vowed she wouldn't be caught dead in. Second, she didn't have any desire to buy a volleyball net, considering she thought it was the stupidest game on the planet. Third, Keith and Matt were acting like jerks while Carly was just standing there. And fourth, that new bitch had attached herself to Aaron and Ele couldn't figure out how to get him back.

"Well, which one do you think?" asked Carly. Whereas Ele was completely obnoxious, Carly was only semi-obnoxious. She followed Ele around like a lost puppy dog and modeled herself after her.

"I don't know," sniffed Ele. "And I don't care. Not one of the four of us plays this stupid game, so I don't see why WE should be the ones that have to buy the net."

"Cause the losers who do use it are all at home, decorating," said Matt. "They don't even deserve a net." Actually, Matt had sort of a crush on Courtney and since he knew how much Christian liked volleyball, he wasn't too thrilled about buying one.

"We have to get one, or they'll whine," said Carly.

"Fine," sighed Ele. She pointed a long, red nail at a box. "Just get that one." Keith lifted the box off the shelf and led the others to a checkout line."

"This place gives me the creeps," said Matt, looking around. "I hate associating with low-class people."

Carly looked uncomfortable. "Just because they don't have as much money as we do doesn't mean that they're bad."

Matt laughed. "Carly, stop being so forgiving. If they'd just get real jobs, they wouldn't have to shop here." He paid for the volleyball set and walked out to the parking lot with the others.

"I don't even want to go back to school," said Keith. "They're all going to be all happy and dorky."

"You know," said Ele, "it would be cool if we could get back at them for making us buy them this net. I'm sick of seeing them all cheerful all the time."

"What do you suggest?" smiled Matt.

Ele frowned. "I'm not sure yet. Something to break their happy little group up."

"You mean get them mad at each other?" asked Keith.

"Yeah," Ele nodded. "But they can't know that we're behind it. Like, we have to make them think they're all against each other . . . like with fake notes, or something."

"I like it," said Matt. "But how do we do it?"

"I don't know," said Ele. She got in the car and slammed the door. "Let me think about it. I have a feeling that seeing their annoying little faces will inspire us," she said. She leaned back in her seat as Keith drove out of the parking lot, thinking only of how she could get that little bitch away from Aaron and how to get him to come back to her.
