"All right, where are they?" asked Erin, standing with her hands on her hips and staring up at the school. Christian and Gabe were behind her, building a bonfire, and Ali and Aaron were attempting to get the grill going.

"Where's who?" asked Colleen. She was placing sodas in the ice chest at Erin's feet.

"Alley and Trey," answered Erin. "Where are they?"

Colleen looked up. "This is just a guess, but I'm gonna say up at the building."

Erin looked down at Colleen. "Really?? I never woulda thought of that!" Colleen just grinned and returned to the 7-Ups. "You're a weirdo, Coll."

"Hey, it's an up thing," said Colleen, holding up a can of soda.

Erin looked back down at Colleen. "Uh huh. Anyway . . . I'm gonna go find them." She jogged away up the path to the school.

"Ow!" yelped Aaron, dropping a match into the grill.

"Aw, d'you burn your wittle finger?" asked Ali. She kissed Aaron's thumb. "Poor baby!"

Aaron frowned. "Don't make fun of me! It hurt!" He pulled his thumb away from Ali and stuck it in his mouth.

Ali made a face. "That's sanitary. Go get some ice from Colleen. I'll watch the grill." Aaron shrugged and, grabbing a Baggie, headed over to the ice chest.

"Hey, Aaron," said Colleen. She was working on another case of soda. "What's up?"

"I need ice," answered Aaron, holding out the Baggie. "What soda ya got there?"

"Always Coca-Cola," said Colleen, holding up another can of soda.

"Coll, you scare me sometimes. Can you put some ice in this bag for me?" Aaron asked.

"Surely," said Colleen, tossing some ice chunks in the bag and sealing it. "Yellow and blue make green!"

Aaron looked at Colleen strangely. "What've you been drinking? You got something in there other than soda?"

"Nope, I've just been drinking Dr. Pepper. It's a part of me," said Colleen.

"STOP IT!" yelled Christian from the bonfire. "It was funny the first time! Now it's just pathetic!"

"Hey, I like cheap laughs!" retorted Colleen.

"Those aren't laughs! They're moans!" said Chris.

Aaron left the two of them to discuss how awful commercial jingles are to daily conversation and went back to his girl. Grill. I meant grill.
