Friday, June 14.Haven't been too good about updating content on this page again. Hmmm... I guess I can attribute this due to the long hours I put into hospital and retail pharmacy. What do to when you have to make moolah to pay for a costly pan-Pacific vacation in September? The flight alone is gonna cost me C$2500. Then there's the tour, spending $$$ and the watch (Tag Heuer, if things go my way)... this is gonna be big budget, alright! The week so far has been quite busy (to say the least). Weather was really hot and sticky but we finally got a break -- temps in upper teens / low 20's (high 60's - low 70's to the Farenheit (sp?) people out there...) and much more breezy. It's about 5C lower than normal but a break from the humidity is welcome once in a while. |
Been watching a lot of sports (highlights) these days. Lakers won (no surprise) a couple nights ago as well as the Detroit Red Wings (yea!) last night. Quite happy about that result -- at least one Detroit team pulled off a big win. World Cup -- surprised to see Korea advance but more surprised to see big names like France, Argentina, Portugal, OUT of the tournament. Who would have thought? The weekend ahead: Father's Day... haven't found anything yet for my pops. He's always tough to find stuff for. Maybe a trip to Home Depot may result in a purchase. It's also my mom's b'day on Monday. Have to find my mom something! Tough thing though ... work this weekend at the hospital. When to find time to shop??? Ironic thing: I did find time to buy me a Timex titanium watch yesterday -- got it at Costco for a reasonable price... |
Going up to T.O...Thursday, June 20.I cannot believe how fast time flies when you work 50+ hrs / wk. I barely remember the last entry -- it felt like it was a lot sooner than a week ago! Well, I'm still putting in the monster hours and staying out of trouble. The goal is there and I'm still on track... Who turned on the furnace? It's getting really HOT here in southwestern Ontario. It's getting close to 32C (90 F) around there and the pharmacy out here doesn't have working A/C ... so we're leeching coldness out from the clinic next door. Lucky for us we have a fan... |
Tonight, I think I'm seriously going to go swimming at Dorothy's -- ah, to have access to an outdoor pool again. It's been a while (since Jonesey moved out of his old place ... hey, we haven't had a Jones Classic in a while -- and the butthead is taking off for Alberta in a day or so...) But, we got invited to this soiree over at Montana's restaurant -- I figure we should make an appearance. Thanks to Pierre for the invite. For the weekend ... I'm headed up to T.O. (Toronto) for a day trip -- gonna pick up the long awaited Acura body kit for my car! Got a fantastic deal for it. Thanks to Kurt for the referral. I'm gonna be really brave and install the kit on my own (with the help of my friend, Mike) at home. With the money I save, it can go towards my vacation later on. Last thing I need to do (until the warranty expires) is to paint my brake calipers yellow -- Marianne was kind enough to pick me up the Folitec paint kit back home in sunny Calgary. Man, I am so lucky to have friends that I have ... Never to fear, all, I will post pictures up when the process is all done! |
