Well, it's starting to feel like summer now... middle of July and the temps have been on the high side. We did get a nice break last week with lower humidity and slightly below seasonal temps (mid-upper 20's). It did rain a couple of times (not to any significant collection) so the lawn is suffering quite a bit. Sad to see one of the trees that shades the front porch is almost dead. Dad & I will probably hack it down in the fall ... looks like a replacement may be in order for next year.

What have I been doing all this time, you ask? I've been very busy with work. Six days a week (sometimes a longer!) definitely builds character, all right! But it does pay the bills -- got an invoice paid the other day to go immediately towards a Visa bill (oops, the car mods can get a little pricey!). So -- money in, money out. Still have to remind myself to run that Quicken expense list to pay off my GST bill. That's one thing I can always count on -- GST to be paid every 3 months ... (sigh)

It's been that sort of week again -- working hard, trying to save up $$$ but then come other expenses (GST is due!), I'm back to where I started again. It's been very busy for me ... trying to keep up with the many hours I put in at work and balancing the social calendar. My folks went on a road trip out to Maryland / Washington DC area for a university reunion (even though they graduated from Taiwan University). They haven't seen some of their classmates in 40 (forty) years! Have to say that's quite a milestone event.

Jonesey came back from his residency program. He's glad to be home (it was cold out in Alberta) and now can start his career in earnest. He's going to live in Toronto for a while (the finacee is going to school there) so big city life is in his future. Went out with him and Mike yesterday to a couple places out in Tecumseh ( Butcher & the Banker as well as Johnny Shotz ). Haven't played pool in a while.

Worked today last minute -- wanted to help out my boss who's been really wiped out with all the hours she's been putting in as of late. Inventory was also this past week so it was quite a stressful experience. She has the house to herself today so that's why I covered for her. Her kids are giving her headaches galore... (nothing I can relate to).

After work today, I went over to Keith's place (coworker and I knew his older sister pretty well -- we went to high school together) for a BBQ / party. It was a nice time and an opportunity to meet new people. Not much else going on here. I am really surprised that I'm up this late fixing up my webpage. It's been severely neglected but I thought I'd put new material up. At the end ... of course I'll put photos of my car up. This was supposed to be here a while ago, but I finally found time to actually post them. Hope you like!
