Oops ... another long absence from updating this webpage. I have done a couple things since the last time I wrote. Worked quite a bit to "catch up" on the week of goofing off in Hawaii. Also paid the penalty working at Shoppers -- it was busy! Plus me not being used to working solid like that didn't help, either. Also at the Shoppers, they've upgraded to the new computer program, NextGen. I do like it's Windows-like appearance. Some things are more intuitive now. But it's hard to break some of the old habits of the pre-existing system. Have to unlearn all those keystrokes.

Meanwhile, over at Riverside Pharmacy, they're a week away from doing a long overdue renovation of the dispensary and front shop areas. Based upon the preliminary drawings and the colour scheme, it looks like things are looking up at Riverside.

Last weekend, I drove up to Toronto with JJ for a classmate's wedding. It was such a surprise to see Fong after all those years. I was also surprised to see I was the only one from pharmacy to show up (Jon had to work; Matt couldn't make it). I also was introduced to an 'Asian girl from Windsor I haven't met'. Jasmine's really cool. But it was neat to meet up with Fong's cousin, Alice, who I haven't seen in 10 years. She's married with 2 kids. Still looks good.

The ceremony & reception was a little bit of everything. Traditional things like good food (shark's fin soup, lobster, fish, etc) was abundant. Non-traditional things (lion dance, break dancing!) was also there. I thought it was a nice mix of things. I did feel bad for the older family members because the wedding was definitely more youth-oriented. The speakers for both sides were pretty good (except for one guy who was telling some bad jokes ... I don't blame him for sweating that badly). Weird to see a Chinese groom with a Jamaican best man ... he was funny.

Also met up with my Acura TL friends before going home. Had lunch (Singaporean food) and chilled a bit. I felt bad for JJ because Gurinder didn't bring his fiancee, Sharon. But at least Street Spirit was there so JJ wasn't the only female at the meet.

On Thursday, I drove up to London with Mike to get my car serviced (72000km already!). Dropped the car off at 11 ... didn't get it back until close to 6. They had to get the hood detailed 'cause they messed it up last time I was there. That's why I never get it washed at the dealership ... they don't appreciate the paint! Met up with Imran -- we all went out for greasy-spoon lunch at the Price Albert Diner on Richmond. Did some shopping and drove JJ's sister, YY, home. It was a good day (but long). One thing that shocked me was to hear that Vioxx (aka rofecoxib) got pulled from the market that day. My bro's stock Merck got hammered!

Today is an ugly day out ... rainy and overcast. We've been blessed with cool, sunny weather for weeks so I can't really complain. A little tricky getting out to Essex but nothing remarkable. Was busy at the get-go, but now it's relaxed. So far, the tally is around 34 scripts. I can't complain ... guess I earned my keep.

It's been a busy past couple of weeks. Worked two Saturdays in a row (not cool but a necessary evil) along with my usual 5 day work week. Doesn't help out my poor, aching legs. Guess I may have to schedule in more exercise 'cause I'm a lazy pig as of late. It's a vicious circle -- work more, feel like exercising less. But you need exercise to get more 'energy'.

Finally made some time to reformat my laptop. It was starting to act up a bit (ie slow down). I do have to say XP is a lot more stable than any previous incarnation of Windows. When I reformatted, I partitioned the hard drive so that I have a dedicated Windows drive, and the other files on the other partition. Will make defragmenting, etc a lot easier and less time consuming.

It was a busy Thanksgiving w/e. Couple friends came down for the w/e. Unfortunately, I was unable to free myself and meet up with them. Char got her car waxed (normally a job that I used to do -- FREE). Immie was out and about -- up to his usual antics. Of course, it was a quick w/e for both -- had to leave back to their respective residence (ie not Windsor).

Also had an opportuntity to show off my cooking prowess (no, not the BBQ). I co-created a pumpkin cheesecake for a Thanksgiving party at a family friend's house. It was quite the success -- it got devoured! Thanks to the 'net for storing great recipies. =)

What else ... oh yeah. I'm meeting up with UofT pharmacy people. JJ gets to meet some of the folks I went to school with! We're meeting up at the Applebee's on Walker tonight. Might be a big turn out ... might not be. I'll be surprised.
