Wednesday, January 25Whoa ... a whole month I didn't touch this page. OK ... my excuse du jour is that I have school AND work to balance. I've cut back my hours down to 40hrs/wk, so hopefully I can keep it together. Last semester, I was turning into a basket case. Seriously -- I was stressed out. Trying to keep commitments without stepping on too many shoes was tough. Plus I was workin' to supplement the income I will lose due to school. |
Summary of the past month -- Christmas was OK. New Year's I had a bad case of stomach flu so new year's eve was flat ginger ale and toast for dinner. I barely got to see the clock tick down on Time's Square (heard Dick Clark -- he did fairly well, considering how severe a stroke he had). Went to the Autoshow -- I've found my next car. JJ will need a car in the fall, so I will most likely hand down the Inspire so that I can pick up a new G35coupe (2nd generation model). The Autoshow had a "concept" model on display. From what I've read, that concept will be almost identical to the production model. Some estimate the production model will be previewed at the New York Autoshow. This way, Infiniti gets publicity twice ... at Detroit ... then New York. I think that's a great idea. ETA: fall 2007 - spring 2008. Hope it's closer to the former than the latter. Yesterday, Pat picked up his new car. He drove up to London to trade in his crappy Mercedes and now has a new Lexus GS300AWD. Silver on black (like his last car). I took a couple pics and posted it on the 'net ... might as well post them here. More pics when the weather is more agreeable. One thing I really think is cool is the key fob. Of course, in Lexus style, all the newest bells and whistles are included in the new car. I like the fact it has intelligent key technology -- walk up to the car, the doors or trunk will unlock when you try to open them. There is no ignition switch -- you just press the 'start engine' button to start the car. That is so cool! |
Friday, April 21You'll have to excuse the tremendously long hiatus from this long neglected website. I've been so busy with school and work, it's not been funny. When I used to pull 60+hrs/wk in retail, it wasn't "too" bad. Now I'm down to 40hr/wk but I'm working a lot of extra hours on my homework, readings, web e-learning. The past 7 months has wiped me out physically and mentally. |
I'm in Toronto right now for exams. I wrote my cardiology final and did a couple of presentations. It's almost a week gone and soon to go home. I had a somewhat rough week but I feel as if I passed what I needed to pass. No need for "honours" -- who's going to check up on that? I have a life and I am not going to break my back for this. It's the learning experience, right? |
