Welcome to Soonger's Homepage. You're probably wondering why I would put so much about myself to the world to read. I'm proud of the things I've done in the short period of time I've been here. It's a place for me to show you a part of myself and my friends. (I know they like to show up on a webpage.) It's also a chance for those who are far away to keep a tab on me and my various exploits.
In a sense I'm part exhibitionist, part braggart. This small part of cyberspace is a place for people who know me or curious people can stumble upon and see what I'm up to. Even though I say that I update this page when I can, I really don't do so often enough.
This page is more like a work in progress. I don't receive the feedback that would be to improve what areas are week nor do I receive any suggestions on what to add! If you have anything to say or just want to harrass me, write me! I always like to hear what the world has to say about me. Friend, acquaintance, or stranger, I'd like to hear what you have to say!
A recent picture (May 2006) of me out in Austin, Texas (actually, overlooking Travis Lake). What else is important to me? Of course -- my car! I'm glad to say Project TL is coming along nicely. Check the pictures out in my scans section for more views of the Type-S...
I'm back!Monday, July 29OK ... I'm back after a 6 month + absence. A lot has happened since I last logged into the site. In a nutshell, I got married, doing more school, and working a lot less. I even had some time off and went on a mini-vacation, too! As always, I was a stressball during this time ... up until recently. Let's start from the top ... January and February were busy months. School work was piling up -- having 3 classes to study for / prepare assignments for while working 4 days a week took it toll on me. Grades suffered! I wasn't getting much sleep, either. JJ wasn't too happy since she tried to keep me in good spirits while juggling her busy residency, along with wedding planning. (I wasn't too helpful in this regard...) March was a blur -- the 2 families took off during March Break to go to Hawaii -- JJ and I got married in Hawaii. It was a good time -- pictures were fantastic. Sadly, I was still trying to get homework done ... even on the flight back home! I only took my wedding day off -- setting up, getting married, then pictures ... that was a very long day (March 14 ... in case you want to mark that down on your calendar). I think I suffered from heat stroke -- let me tell you ... wearing a black suit in the tropics on a sunny day is a bad combination! I cannot thank Del & Marie for all their help for our wedding planning ... it could not have been done without all their help! |
April through July was another blur ... wrapping up the semester along with changing lifestyle (ie being married!) wasn't a good transition period. There's been some family stress -- my uncle not being well ... me not feeling good about things ... plus pent up resentment about things in general ... I hope that part is well behind me now. Along with the bad things, there have been some good things as well. My brother got married. Many friends and family were worried about him. Think about it -- successful doctor with no debt, drives a nice car, comes from a pretty good family ... having a brother like me ... what more could one ask for? Thing is ... Pat is a very picky person and he has a lot of idiocyncracies. I guess that's what happens when you reach 38 and not marry. Well ... he's found his match in Jiong. I wish them the best -- in fact, I think Pat overachieved with Jiong. (I won't elaborate on that thought since I know that Pat reads my journal entries here from time to time!) I also found out that 3 of my cousins overseas are expecting / had a baby in time for the year of the 'golden pig' -- this is a very lucky time, according to the Chinese Zodiac. Believe me -- I'm not superstitious ... but I know many cousins are. |
