Spike Jones and his City Slickers and Dorothy Shay "The Park Avenue Hillbilly costar for Coca- Cola Company, over CBS Network on Fridays. The show during 1948 season, travel around the United Stares and broadcast from various cities along the tour route. In 1949 the shows name was change to The Spike Jones Show, when Dorothy Shay left the show in 1949. It was them heard on Sundays until March 6th.then on Saturdays..
The City Slickers was a novelty band that did comedy take off on popular and classical pieces such as Cocktail for two, Chole, Holiday for Strings, Hawaiian War Chant and Liberestraum to name a few. The musicians we very talented that could perform as clowns or classical musicians and were called up
on to do both as City Slickers.
Dorothy Shay sang special comedy songs with hillbilly or country flavor such as Fuden A Fuss'n and a fighten and Do'n What Comes Naturally.
