Real Life Marriages

Kirstie Alley (Virgilia Hazard) and Parker Stevenson (Billy Hazard Book II ) were married in 1983 and have two adopted children, William True (4) and Lilie Price (2). When Kirstie won her Best Actress Emmy in 1991 for her role as Rebecca Howe on 'Cheers' she thanked Parker for "giving me the big one for eight years." Kirstie and Parker bought a 15-bedroom inn on the island of Islesboro as a summer home but also had a 32-room mansion in California. They filed for divorce on November 27, 1996.

Lesley-Anne Down (Madeline Fabray-LaMotte-Main-Hazard) and Don Fauntleroy (assistant cameraman North and South Books I and II ; director of photography Heaven and Hell ). Don fell in love with Lesley on-screen and signed with North and South because she was going to be in it. The couple live in a Malibu hillside cottage with her son Jack (whose father is Exorcist director William Friedkin) and his two daughters.

James Read (George Hazard) and Wendy Kilbourne (Constance Flynn-Hazard) fell in love the moment their characters did---during a rehersal for the dance scene. They were married in 1988.

Genie Francis (Brett Main-Hazard) and Jonathan Frakes (Stanley Hazard) met on the set of Bare Essence but didn't get together until North and South . They married in 1987 and have a son Jameson Ivor. Genie and Jonathan are expecting their second child soon.
