Aug and Sept 99'

Well I felt like I had to do a OPD update today!!! I mean it is 9/9/99!!!! But other then it just being 9-9-99 Disneyland has improved even more since my last update. As you know we were all worried about the Canoes, Main Street Vehicles, and Mr. Lincoln well I have some great news for the Canoes. They are staying through the off season!!! Now who was the person to decide that they would stay???? Miss Cynthia Harriss!!!! She seems to love the Rivers of America almost as much as Walt. And Al Lutz of DIG reported that the Keel Boats may just be back next year!!!

In other news They are putting the new Fast Pass systems on Indy and Splash Mt. I will try and give you more info on this in the next few days. OPD's New look. Now I know the look isn't very good Im just toying around right now but I hope to have OPD up to Jeremy Riney's Standards by 1/1/00. Email me with your ideas. Monorail is down till next Spring.....

From the Disneyland Information Guide and several readers who have emailed me.... Rumors have been going around that The Canoes, Main Street Vehicles and Mr. Lincoln will be leaving Disneyland forever. They say it is due to lower than normal rider counts. Paul Yeargin has this idea that every ride should be up to full capacity. (Can you just see hundreds of people in line for Mr. Lincoln???) But I don't see how they can say people don't ride the Canoes. Everyone seems to love riding them and there is always a nice sized line. Tell me if you guys hear any more rumors on this and make sure to go and vist these attractions next time you're at Disneyland.

From The Fabulous Disney Babe This will be a new Flume ride (Like Splash Mt.) But remember that even if WDI does get to build the ride it won't be for over 5 or so years.... Now from FAB.."The Mounatin itself will look like Bald Mounatin from Fantasia; inside is, apparently, a "Villain Convention." Guests are told to look quietly, but not to let the Villains know that they are there, but then (say it with me, kids!) Something Goes Terribly Wrong, you are spotted, and you spend the rest of the attraction feeling like you're in the HM during Mickey's Halloween Treat, with Villains popping out and menacing you at just about every turn. Just as Chernabog is about to grab you, you escape down the flume. See why putting this right next to Splash Mounatin would be a bad idea? " Thank you FAB!!! The Main Street Cinema is due for some changes. Don't expect to see classic Mickey shorts for much longer- after this summer, the films will be changed to new Mickey MouseWorks shorts.
