Xander is a sweet, sensitive boy with raging
hormones. He's pining away for Buffy, who views him as
just a pal. Gifted with a quick wit, his observations run
from profound to ridiculous, but they're always pure
Xander.

A relative newcomer to show business, Nicholas
Brendon has already amassed an impressive list of
credits. His first exposure was on a Clearasil commercial,
followed by guest appearances on "Married... With
Children" and "Dave's World." Nicholas also starred in a
pilot called "Secret Lives." Nicholas' film debut was as a
very un-Xander-like bad guy in "Children Of The Corn
III." He's also been featured on stage in his native Los
Angeles in three theater productions: "The Further
Adventures of Tom Sawyer," "My Own Private
Hollywood," and "Out of Gas on Lover's Leap." After an
acting dry spell, Nicholas decided to try his hand behind
the camera, and spent some time working as a television
production assistant before landing the role of Xander.

Q&A: The Important Stuff

UltimateTV: Hey, who's your favorite actor?
Nicholas: Jack Lemmon. He's a great actor. Great
comedic timing.

U: Not unlike yourself. How about actress?
N: Thanks. Actress. Let me think about that and get
back to you.

U: Ok, how about favorite movie?
N: Some Like It Hot. The whole premise. Jack
Lemmon and Tony Curtis have great chemistry.
And both look good in dresses.

U: And TV? What do you make time for each week?
Besides Buffy, that is...
N: The Simpsons and Seinfeld. The writing on both
shows is brilliant. Not unlike Joss Whedon.

U: And music... who's good these days?
N: Nerf Herder. The songs are simple, but... the
whole thing is the humor. Making fun of
themselves. My favorite song is 'Sorry.'

U: What do you do when you're not working on the
show?
N: Read, watch old movies. Go driving in my car
and think alone.

U: Talk about Xander? Can you relate, or is he nothing
like you?
N: Comic-ly, we're a lot alike. I'm not as pathetic
from day to day as Xander. I have certain days, but
in general, I'm not as pathetic.

U: Vampires. Witches. The occult. What do you think of it
all?
N: I pratice it. No, in all seriousness, I don't think
you can conjure up spirits of the dead and use them
for your own gain, but hey, to each his own.

U: What sticks in your mind as the funniest or most
memorable experience or event from the time spent on
the set putting this show together?
N: Alyson decided to pants me and everything
came down. In front of forty extras and they were
rolling camera.

U: Did we ever figure out who your favorite actress was?
N: Yeah. Rosie O'Donnell. Amazing in every film
she's ever done. Especially Beautiful Girls.
