What does it take to be the girlfriend of a 400 year old Immortal?
Well, Tessa, Mac's love (from Episode 1 thru 26), had it all. Beauty, intelligence, talent, a sense of humor, steady nerves and emotions, and two even more important things. The first was that she could handle her jealousy with maturity and sensibility, which wasn't an easy task considering Mac's 400 years of flings and romances. The second, and most important thing, was her acceptance and understanding of who, and what, be was.
Not only did she have to deal with the many past loves of Mac's long life, but there was also his enemies, which sometimes were one in the same. Then there's this thing called the "Game", which kept these enemies coming, sometimes at the most annoying times (as in the first scene of the first episode). And what about her internal clock (Immortals could not have children), and that when she became a senior citizen, Mac would look like her Grandson. Well, this last one never came to past.
In Episode 26 (The Darkness), after escaping from a renegade Watcher, who almost killed them all, Tessa and Richie were feeling lucky to be alive, when a drugged up teenager, with nothing else to do with the story, shot and killed them both. We find out, in the closing scene, that because Richie had been an Immortal all along, he is still alive . . .
. . . but Tessa is just "Dust in the Wind."
